What do you inmates think of "trim packages" on trucks. Looking at a F-350 with a XL package, power everything>No carpet and cloth seats. Priced is $15K cheaper then a Lariat model.

I would look at an XLT, there are packages in the XLT that are really close to the Lariat but without leather and a couple small things. I would stick to XLT.

When I had my shop, several local customers would order loaded XLT's or Silverado's. Before they would drive them, we would pull the interior, remove the carpet and install factory work truck rubber floors. Lots of dirt, and water in Parker and Blythe. Before getting the next truck, reinstall the carpet and trade in. I think I may do this with my next purchase.

Ford makes nice oversized rubber mats, I have them in my truck.

They're dirty but they fit nice

This
The XLT with the 302A package. Close to the Lariat minus the moon roof

I won't buy a vehicle with cloth. Leather just holds up better and does not stain like cloth.
I’ve never seen a leather seat look halfway decent after 15 years…cloth, is usually perfect…especially if you don’t have kids

Yeah, Ford still offers a lot of individual options no matter what the trim level and one of the best ones is have those all weather rubber floor mats.

My 2004 2500 HD has leather and still looks really good with 140k on the ODO. The last truck I had with cloth had some stains that I could not get out.

Cloth holds up pretty well over time. Leather will break down over time.
If you condition the leather a couple times a year and use the running boards to get out instead of sliding out the leather will last a long time

Think of it like this:
XL is like living in the 909 area code
XLT is 951 area code
Lariat is 949 area code
Platinum is Beverly Hills/Bel Air
I understand all of that but I have seen 909 houses a lot nicer then "Beverly hills/Bel Air) homes

I can see were my post can come off a bit offensive. Don't take it to heart. Lets try this:
XL is like having a Bayliner
XLT is like a Commander
Lariat is like a Hallett
Platinum is like a Schiada on a triple axle trailer

In whatever state you live in... Find out who has been awarded the fleet bid for the state and reach out to them. Obviously you won't get the state bid price, but they might be able to build you what you want. You can do it online, but some of the options aren't available "over the counter" from what I have found. We order XL trim everything but there are a myriad of options for adding features and comfort/convenience items to the base trim. I want to say the 201A option gives you alloy wheels, chrome bumpers and the power windows and locks and mirrors.

Today's base packages are still light years away from the pickups I used to own where a cloth seat had you in tall cotton. Rubber floor mats don't bother me because everyone puts in Weathertech liners which essentially give you the same thing, except over carpet. Might as well just skip the nylon cut pile. And the 40/20/40 seat is far superior to a console, without a doubt. Infotainment? Yeah, I've got a holder for my phone.

Where is LOF when you need him? 🤣🤣🤣

🤣 my old XLT towed the old commander. Now the Raptor tows the Hallett. Never had a bayliner but if I did I'd tow it with my wife's Durango.

I just got a f350 Lariat supercab. More stuff than I need. AC and heat seats are nice. I didnt know it was $15K difference or I might have done more comparing. 71k was msrp, got a winch, 4:30 gears, twin alt and battery and some other stuff.

I don't have to condition cloth and it lasts as long as I own the truck
