All I know is I went to Pismo and got yanked out of the sand by a Toyota tacoma because the 4x4 did not engage, I was unaware ford had a vacuum line set up like that or I would have gotten out and manually locked the hubs. When I got home I noticed one of the vacuum lines was not connected. As soon as I repaired the connection the 4x4 worked again.
Damn, I pulled a F-350 out of there years ago with my old half ton Chevy. Broke his pinion shaft and wedged into the axle housing completely locking the front axle.

All three truck brands are great choices. I’ve owned and driven them all, and each has its pros and cons. For me, once you’ve had a GMC or Chevy, it’s hard to go back to a Ford or Ram. The fit, finish, and overall comfort on GM trucks just feel more upscale. I have an amazing Ford connection and get top-notch service for anything I need, but I still end up buying GM products.

Like I said, they’re all solid trucks—just go with the one you enjoy driving and don’t look back.

The updated 25 Ram HDs with the 8 speed ZF transmission are supposed to be hitting the lots in early 2025. I plan on driving one later in the summer and might make the jump from my ‘17. It would take a lot to make me give up the 17 though- it’s only got 75k on it.

Well, I took the plunge today. While I really like my old Ford 1 ton crew 4x dually, driving the new to us (13,000 lb wet) boat/trailer back to Cali a couple of weeks ago made it clear that I’m pushing it a bit too hard.

I looked at the Fords (and there were some reasonable discounts), however, I’m a GM guy at heart.

Ended up buying a 2025 2500 diesel crew 4x GMC Denali with both tow packages and a couple of others as well. I netted about $8k off sticker but it wasn’t cheap. Just got home with it about an hour ago.

The amount of features are amazing and the HP and torque numbers are almost double my dually.

I’m pretty stoked but we’ll see how it performs over the next few months.

Have a 2019 ford f350 limited with 63,000 miles, I going to trade it in for a new truck due to retiring next July and want a new truck for lots of road trips pulling a 7500 two horse bumper pull trailer.
Option one is a F350 Platinum HO diesel with the Tremor package, still unclear if the Tremor package reduce the overall trailer weight to 18,000 lbs vs 22,000 lbs.

Option two would be GMC Denial diesel.
Want to drive both and hook onto my trailer and do a run in the hills south of my area to see how they respond.

Good discussion on the two trucks.

If road trips is the main use why even consider an off-road focused package like the Tremor? None of the Tremor features will benefit your main use.

True the Tremor package would mostly be for show, but it is no different than putting on a blower or exhaust on a car.
