Why is the world filled with keyboard trolls?

I have a close friend who has a company with some new snow ski tech, and I will most likely invest in it. This past week, we were out in ski country, and they were allowing people to demo the product. I watched closely the reactions and interest people had. In-person comments and questions were all positive. They were truly interested. New/young skiers to old crusty retired ski race bums, all encouraging.

Now ya go online to the content the company has put out there and content ski equipment reviewers have put out there... Damn, nothing but trolls spewing hatred and discouraging vomit. Even one YouTuber ski review guy has a 15 minute hatred video, admittedly never seen the product in person, never tried it, and hasn't talked to anyone who has tried it. Just saw it online, made a video with hate, and posted it. It must have taken him well over an hour of his time to film and edit it.

Why the fuck people have to be bitches?

Unfortunately most people have such low self-esteem they can't help but write a negative comment about something to make themselves seem smart. I advertise on social media and crackup at the dip shits that have nothing better to do with themselves than to take the time to write some bullshit comment on one of my posts. Yet 90% of the rest of the comments are positive. The world wide web has made everyone an internet tough guy. Sad.

As for the YouTuber, that is likely his shtick in order to get views. For some reason society feasts on negativity. Sad.

BMW M1? 🤣

What’s M1?
Some new company making skis out of 7075 aluminum....the product sounded ripe for a good bashing by everyone, so I thought I might have guessed who you were talking about.

YouTube is the modern-day equivalent of a landfill. There is so much garbage posted there its gotten annoying.

These YT people know the art of salesmanship. Draw you in with some kind of stupid tag line, mostly “Why Product X sucks!” and a picture for the video of some half naked chick with big boobs that is in the actual video for a frame.

Trying to find the good in YT is pretty tough.

The fact that this has been monetized into a land slide of garbage content is even more infuriating that these tards get paid for this drivel.

During my internship with Hot Boat I was tasked with writing an article about a bunch of towable toys including some parasailing stuff. I never even saw these things, but I had to write a multipage article about how wonderful this stuff was. I did get to water test something called the Seat Ski. That thing hurt me a few times, but it was an interesting idea. Also tested a big inner tube with handles. That thing was bad ass and we continued to use if for 10 years after it went out the back door at Hot Boat.

I guess it is a Ski Seat. . . .

They have no life of their own to speak of, so inserting their opinion into Your life, makes them feel...

Complete?

To me, the most satisfying feeling of all is the sense of accomplishment. The satisfaction of achieving some self set goal.

When you have no goals of your own, your stuck ripping on everyone else, and trying to suck them into your drama!

How to deal?

Don't Feed the trolls, and eventually, they just go away. 🧌👉

Use the trolling videos as new content ideas for social media.

Endless opportunities to repurpose that content and put your own spin on it.

We had a ski seat growing up. It was like the village bicycle, everyone had a turn on that thing. You road it about two times then you were board with it. Who’s next…..

Have them send a pair of skis up north. My son is a full time ski instructor, he will test them out and get some reviews.

Can you share what product it is? I ski quite a bit and have a friend that is pretty connected.

I grew up going to quite a few boat and performance shops when I was a kid because of my father. I kept up on a couple of my father's relationships and have asked these guru's why they don't post on the internet and social media years ago when it just started becoming main stream. To this day, you don't see many of the best online or chime in on any posts even when their names come up. Reason, those that know nothing about the subjects will chime in as experts. They have nothing but time to sit on a computer and post over and over which creates some to think they actually know what they are talking about. When an expert actually did chime in, they would get destroyed by the keyboard warriors and the wrong advice would become the chosen path. Funny thing, you would end up seeing some of those people asking for help end up at the gurus shops when the hacks advice didn't work or usually caused more issues.

My son does motocross and it's the absolute same thing. I learned fast and early that the true experts are quiet, but their shops are packed. There are also only a few that are really good and they are never the cheapest. When you are loyal, these guys will also answer their phones for you. If you go into these shops saying you know everything and try to beat them down on price, they will take their time on your needs and never pick up the phone.
