Trip to Austin, Texas….

Always wanted to do a Texas trip just to check this place out... I'm sure it's a total tourist trap , but Still wanna check it out for myself...one of these days.. View attachment 1157540

It's pretty good. I had a steak at the bar on the way back from Indianapolis last year. The bock beer was excellent! Funny trucker crowd there. Regulars. I mixed it up with them for many laughs with the chick bartenders.

Don’t know when we got home last night. We went to too many bars last night. Shots of Jamesons were flying around and not sure what else I drank but we had a great time. 6th street was going off last night.

Last night was a total blur. As stated by Hamed shots were flying, drinks were flowing, food was grubbed and had no idea when we got back. The better half & I are taking a me day and recovering

We’re planning on going to Terry Black’s tomorrow but now we’re contemplating if we have to. The BBQ here was really good. The smoked brisket was amazing.

Last night was another blurr. Don’t even remember getting back to our room, just woke up here Only pictures I have are from dinner. Shooting for Terry Blacks today for lunch and meet up with the better half’s niece for dinner at some point.

Made it to Terry Black’s BBQ today. That place is run like a well oiled machine. There was a line but it moved fast.

The bbq was very good as well as the sides. Mac & cheese was amazing and the corn bread was some of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered a beef rib and my wife had the smoked Turkey. Really good. Very expensive lol. About $77 dollars for one rib, two slices of Turkey, three sides and one fountain drink.

After that we went on a long walk over to Barton Springs. This is a natural spring and the water is COLD. It was nice to relax there for an hour or so before heading back to our hotel.

They have a diving board and a few guys were putting on a show. Then some girls hopped on there as well and they were all topless. To our surprise, it’s a topless place and a lot of the college girls were taking full advantage of that.

That one Rib was $46 . $33.99/pound for Beef Ribs & Brisket. I couldn’t even finish it with all the sides. Wish I would have smoked a joint before eating.

Here’s my takeaway from this trip. Austin is a beautiful city. It’s a very walkable city. The weather on our trip was amazing and not humid at all which I’m sure was pure luck. People were very nice here but not as nice as Nashville but still very nice and way nicer than where we live .

Downtown area is clean and attracts a lot of younger people. It has great restaurants, very nice condos and high rises, and a great nightlife. There are homeless here but not as many as back home and even the homeless were polite. I think that has to do with the fact the you can carry here and they know it lol.

There is a lot of construction going on all around the city. Its going to get a lot busier here in the next decade. A lot of tech people from San Francisco area are moving here and I can see why.

Would I move here? Short answer is yes, if my kids moved here. The economy here is only going to get better and there’s a lot of opportunity to make money here and live a good life. You can also drive 20-30 minutes and be away from it all.

All in all, Austin Texas is a very nice place in my opinion.

Austin feels like Orange County was 15-20 years ago. Whether that is a good or a bad thing is up to a persons individual interpretation.

The economy here is only going to get better and there’s a lot of opportunity to make money here and live a good life.

We have a pretty strong economy that’s rapidly diversifying into tech
