A few months back some kids playing war at the elementary school up the street from me. I know about it because someone called the cops on them. Guess they used air soft guns.......... Back when I was a kid. Hogan's Hero's was popular in reruns and we'd play war at recess and lunch at school. We even brought toy guns to school....... I even brought my pellet gun in grade 3. Here in Canada a kid even draws a gun the parents get social services called on them. I miss the old days.

We had toys like that back then and kids didn’t go shooting up schools with real guns.
Now we don’t have toy guns like that and kids do shoot up schools?

When I was a kid we used to shoot each other with BB guns. We'd wear jeans and a sweatshirts and limit ourselves to one or two pumps, and then play war. Far as I know we're all still alive.

We did the exact same thing.
We’d be running around with our snow suits on in summer, hockey helmets and goggles.
I saved my lawn mowing money and ordered a plastic full auto B.B. gun.
Ran on air. My dad helped me rig a HALO air bottle to it.
It didn’t last long, but damn it was effective!
The entire gun was hollow and you just poured the bbs into the back of it.
They shot out like a water stream!

As kids, pre airsoft, we all had cheap daisy B.B. guns. We threw on cheap sunglasses and had our own wars.

My 7th grade science fair project asked if the shape of a projectile affected its accuracy. I filed a bunch of .22 into weird shapes and fired 5 round groups. Put the targets up on foam core. Even took the rifle, less bolt, to school one day.

My 8th grade project was a spud gun. Stayed out of regular class and fired potatos for every science class while the teacher tried to catch them with a baseball glove.

That was less than 20 years ago.
