First time dealing with an oil bath system on a trailer.

Allen heads seem stripped to drain the oil so wanting to upgrade the hub body / cap.

The previous oil caps don’t even have a see through cap to see the oil level.

Anyone upgrade to something like this ?

Previous owner also put extra sealant around the hub body and cap…..is that necessary?

Or is it extra insurance it doesn’t leak.

If your going through this much work, I'd just rebuild my hubs with buddy bearings. I don't know jack shit about the oil bath bearing stuff, but I do know Buddy Bearings have got my junk across America and back multiple times

That looks like someone's homebrew nightmare. Go with buddy bearings and call it a day. and don't over fill them.

I’ve had luck knocking a torx socket into them to remove the allen, but no way in hell would i put back together as oil bath. Replace with grease, pull apart pack the bearings, fill hub then keep the allen out to fill again from the bearing buddy then reinstall new set screw and call it gtg.

UFP Vault is all you need. Super easy to replace. Never have had an issue with oil bath.

I have the UFP Vaults on our 210. no issues. Many of the wakeboard boat trailers seems to be using Vaults these days.
