I am looking for a dolly to push my jet boat trailer around the building. It's not that heavy so I don't need a motorized one. Any suggestions? I saw the Harbor Fright model. Has anyone tried that one?

There are to models at HF, get the heavier duty one, I bent the shit out of the smaller one moving a 19ft jet bote around. I move my 21ft Caliber one (4200lbs) with the bigger one and it does fine.

Questions:

Single axle or double?
Smooth concrete or pavement?
Moved often or once in a while?

The only one I saw online is this one.

Tandem dolly trailer. Every trip at the beginning and end. We put it along the back wall (parallel to the door) so we can get the airplane in the hanger. If the plane is there, we put the jet boat in the other garage for the weekend. Pushing / turning it along the back wall is a little bit of a pain to do alone. Epoxy floors.

I have that one, it worked ok... one of those things where it's better than nothing. Using it on a smooth concrete floor, It tended to twist where the handle end bolts into the wheeled part of the dolly, the metal it's made of is a bit on the thin side. My boat is fairly heavy though, boat and single axle trailer weighs right at 3500 lbs.

Ok,
I had a similar problem that I did all the homework for.
But my storage plans changed at the last minute.

Wheel jacks like this:

Placed under each rear wheel of the double axle.

(Mine was double axle as well with torsion bar suspension)

Then a similar item like this for the jack stand wheel to sit in.

Push it around in any direction you want.

The trailer dollies didn't work for me.
Too damn hard move it with ease by myself in tight spaces without a long straight shot.
That double axle makes it a pain in the ass.

Good luck man

That thing is no doubt badass. Thanks for sharing, for what I have to do I think the manual one will work. If I had to move around a heavier boat I would want that.

Put a ball on a utv or on the front of your vehicle. Pretty tough turning a tandem trailer much more than tiny bit at a time with a hand dolly, pneumatic tires tend to roll over.
I put two hard(mower type) on each side on mine. The torque created by trailer tires still tried to twist dolly over sideways.

I am using this MaxxHaul 70225 trailer dolly. It is excellent, easy to assemble, sturdy, and a tremendous asset for moving a 5' X 10' extra heavy-duty utility trailer (6,500 lb. load rating) around a gently sloped driveway and in and out of the garage. The components for this dolly were of excellent quality and a sturdy product.

That HF unit works great for a dolly trailer but it’s not worth a damn if you are alone with a standard trailer. Could move my Hondo on a dolly anywhere I wanted, try moving our Schiada or Sanger cruisers on prestine concrete and you’re flat out on the couch early that evening.
