We're in the market for a new SUV
I'm looking at the 2024 Cadillac Escalade 6.2 Sport, what you guys think about them? Good or bad?
Can that tow my 28 Magic?
Any of you have a dealership that you've dealt with?
Thanks in advance

Can easily pull your Magic. That's one bad ass SUV. We sat in one and the interior is amazing. I probably would fall asleep driving it. Being the peasants we are, could only afford the Yukon.....lol

Jay at Costa Mesa Buick GMC Cadillac is the man. White glove service over there. Tell him Joe from RDP sent you.

They are nice and would want the diesel.
The reasons we didn’t get one.
1. They are everywhere and 2. Couldn’t get one without a markup.

Keep an eye on Dutton in Riverside for something you'd like then text Rudy at 951-743-0390, mention RDP and Dutton"Dave" a member here for best pricing available as a RDP member as it usually helps quite a bit.

Other than the known lifter and early transmission failures im sure its great. Soured a bit on GM at the moment even though I bought another one but I bought the Duaramax 3.0 and 10 speed trans, fingers crossed. 6 speed trans will fail at 120ishK almost a certainty. Im guessing this has the 10 speed. The lifter issue less likely but always in the back of your mind. If you're only keeping it to 100k miles go for it.

Rented a 2023 Escalade on vacation last summer. The technology in this vehicle is mind blowing! If I ever win the lottery I'm all in, lol... :p

Isn’t Range Rover the fastest depreciating vehicle on the planet ? And # 1 for most problems reported in 3 years ownership ? Why would you recommend that to a friend ? 😎
I would never buy a Range Rover, but thanks for looking out

We have an Escalade ESV V and love it, but everything’s for sale. The V is worth every penny. The performance and sound of the exhaust are amazing.
Is that look 100% factory? If so Cadillac is really taking it up a notch.

I had a 2002 Escalade and that was a great car. 6L HO motor and AWD, I could drive the mountain roads pretty aggressively and never an issue.

It’s factory other than we wrapped the roof . It has the onyx package with black badges and upgraded factory wheels.

The Cullinan depreciates faster.

Range Rovers are much nicer than Escalades. If you worry about the first 3 years, get a used one and take advantage of the depreciation.

If RD wants to attract non-poor people to RDP, we need to have more discussions about Range Rovers and fewer about Escalades.
Don’t you mean G’s and Lambo’s?

That thing is ridiculous. I don’t need a SUV. I’d do one of these in a heartbeat

@colenighthawk I have a 2023 Escalade sport and the thing is a beast. You will have plenty of power and stopping capability with the escalade. Only thing i dont like about the escalade is the fuel tank is only 22 gallons. I wish it was 26 or 27 because it likes its fuel how i drive it.

We just got a 2024 Denali SUV ultimate and I think the interior is a little better then the escalade. My wife keeps trying to take it from me when she has the escalade.

Facing the reality that my aging boney ass-comfort weighs heavily on our new vehicle purchasing decision, I'm always interested in customer's opinions in that regards.
When we looked at 2023 GMC's, we were disappointed that the seats in the Yukon Denali, were far more comfortable than the seats in the Sierra Denali. '23 isn't the first year I've encountered this and don't know why.
Testing the Sierra Denali Ultimate's seat comfort really surprised me when I found them even less comfortable than the standard Denali, which I attributed to the Ultimate's use of a thicker leather. Same thing I found when I compared Ford's King Ranch seats with those of the Platinum, King Ranch uses thicker leather that feels stiff.
Is this also true of the Yukon Denali Ultimate ?

So far the Ford seats seem the most comfortable.

To be honest I didnt even look or try anything else. I was driving a range rover and those seats were much better but after a couple weeks I forgot about it.

Just got done with a tow from Simi Valley to Palm springs and back towing a pretty damn heavy trailer (for the car at least, it doesn't have a bed, don't call it a truck!). Probably close to 8k lbs. Our '09 Escalade ESV towed it with no problems at all. Now the Falken tire that decided to separate on the way out there, that is a different story that has nothing to do with the car.

Buddy has a 23 Escalade just had a lifter failure at 6k mi. Sent metal through the motor so its been waiting a month now for a new motor. He said they had two others at the dealership as well with lifter failures and waiting on full motor replacements.

I wouldn't be very happy after spending 100k plus on a vehicle then having a dealership mechanic pull and replace a motor.

crazy. I'd be pissed beyond belief. After the motor swap I wouldn't want it anymore.

What model and are you paying an ADM?
Sport Platinum
No ADM
90% of the dealers add a mark up on Platinum
Sales guy kind of worked out the numbers and said over the phone that monthly payment is $2600 for 3 yrs and 15k miles per yr.
I know nothing about leasing a car, always purchase not leased

With leasing you need to know the “money factor” rate and residual. The MF rate can be adjust by the dealer. Don’t just sign based on the “payment”. You also don’t want to put any money down either cause if you do and it gets totaled you are out the money down.

My X7 was 135k otd @3.99% on a purchase Including an extended warranty and service contract and my payment is $2450 no money down 5 yr loan. It’s absolutely nuts, more than my mortgage. F’me. Lol

The lease payment seems high.

Do you have the copy of the window sticker?
Seems that the car still has ADM unless it has the onyx and night vision package. To get the price at 123k.

Have the dealer give you the residual and MF based on the payment number they sent you. The dealer can hide money in a lease easily.

Call me if you have any questions… The Escalade or the Yukon Denali are both great vehicles.
