Toon info needed

Looking to purchase a used (2015 or newer) tritoon in the 25ft range with a single 250/300 outboard with the quad lounge layout this fall/winter. Trying to spend 50k or less.

Don't know much about pontoons. What are somethings I should look for / lookout for when looking? TIA

Other than it runs good on a lake test? The tilt and trim are fully functional? Gauges all work?

Make sure all the Bimini's work properly and there is no wood rot you can see, poking around everywhere.

They are fairly simple machines.

50 or less is doable. Could be more depending on manufacturer and trim level.
Look at the bottom of the toons. There will be scratches, just make sure no significant dents. Aluminum doesn't really flex well, it cracks.
Check the oil, our merc verado oil gets dirty pretty quick. They don't require many frequent oil changes, but find out if it's been done regularly
Check in lockers. You can tell a poor maintained toon by the scum under the seats.
Check fit and finish and determine what's OK for you. Toons are like RVs, you should have philips on board. Screws constantly get loose.
Carpet stay away from carpet.
Vinyl condition. Look for cracks in areas. Toon manufacturers don't use the best. They use average. You can tell sun exposure and care by the seat conditions
Fuel tank, no less than 45 gal with a 300.
Toon condition, the logs. Just cause they are metal doesn't mean they don't need to be cleaned. Once they oxidized youre screwed unless they get refinishing and it's not cheap.
Last, who is the seller. Party boat or family boat. Makes a big difference

It's hard to clean. Sure it's boat carpet and can get wet. But it fills with sand, stains, and will smell. There are much better options for this original poster.
2015 and newer there are many options that are not carpet.
Our avalon has a fuax teak floor. It's a solid sheet of material. Sorta like LVP. But it's something more very hard rubber like.
We use a wet swiffer. Or I use simple green, or just hose it off if it's not dirty and just sandy.
Water runs right of the deck.
It gets about as hot as carpet. It needs to be 110 plus before you may want flip flops.

Plus drinks, kids, dogs, washes right off.

Ours had snap in carpet at the helm. I sent the template to gator step. They matched the teak lines and colors. Also had the ski locker done while I was at it

The general consensus was the solid flooring was Way too hot. And what I Wanted to do would be Way too slippery!

My old carpet lasted over 20 years, and I never had any of the issues you mentioned.

You just gave me a good idea. If we have any left over material, I'm gonna have em make "floor mats* for the high traffic areas.

I'm sure the new carpet will last longer than me.

Last new Boat I purchased 2010 Bennington, last year they used carpet. Ya it got a little dirty some carpet cleaner and a tire brush took care of that. The newer faux vinyl doesn't get hot. At least the Toons I have been on. Seems to have some grain to it...maybe why. Carpet does feel better on my piggies though..
