Took my daughter to the river

this trip had been planned for a while, but due to life didnt look like we were going to be able to make it. i was pretty bummed, i dumped a ton of cash into the motor on the pontoon last year and hadnt had a chance to test it. Thursday night i told the wife i was going to roll out at 4am to run the boat and then head back later that day to help with all the other stuff we had going. she said if your going to go, you might as well stay saturday night and enjoy it. then it hit me i had never gone with just my daughter. i had help once i got there, my parents and sister and bunch of family friends were already there, so i grabbed her out of bed at 4am saturday morning and rolled. of the whole weekend she said the best part was the pizza party saturday night, I just had to laugh, she went to roadrunner, pirates and drove the boat, played in the water and even got her own box of cheese its on the way home, but she loved the pizza party. it was a great weekend with her.

Good job dad! I definitely understand the pizza party highlight. My kids used to tell me their favorite part about going to the river and the desert was playing with toys in the sand. Note: we have a giant sandbox in our backyard at home they don’t use.

Seems like only yesterday, in the Bayliner with my daughter, wearing a vest with grab handle, and my parents, headed up river. Daughter's in college now...

kids what do you want to do for your bday. rent a jumper? you have a trampoline in the back yard!!! at the river dad take us to topock so we can swim in the pool! haha

When our youngest was about 5 she woke up as we were driving across the desert on the way to Willow Beach for our very first houseboat trip. We were the only ones awake in our Sub. She rubbed her eyes, looked around and said, Ya right Dad - Like we’re really going on a houseboat out here? ! She finally believed me when we crossed over Boulder Dam. Back then you actually drove over the dam.

She’s been a River Girl ever since that first great Lake Mohave - Willow Beach houseboat trip, many years ago.

River Shore Hotel, we do 3-4 trips a year there where we book the whole place, we just keep rolling deposits and dates over. ive been going there all my life, my dad has pictures there when he was a little kid with his parents.

What a great way to spend a weekend. Some of the best trips were just the kids and me when they were little. So much fun for them!

the beach is what keeps us coming back. we have done houses in the keys, rented at bransons, but that beach area is just really tough to beat.
