Well, I'll tell ya, These are completely "normal" thoughts you are having at exactly the normal place on your timeline of life.
It is a good thing that you are having them. 'normal" seems harder to find these days.
I know you well enough to be confident in telling you to trust your gut when it comes to how to proceed from here.
I constantly consider the "time factor" these days, and we are doing all we can to extract the most out of every day these days.

My brother just attended a memorial for one of his childhood friends. The guy who passed away was the younger brother of one my best friends growing up.

Live life for today fellas. It's easy to say and hard to do, the rat trace gets in the way. "One day I'm going to do that" can easily turn into never. I just make sure to hug my daughters everyday and let my wife know I love her. Sometimes that is all that makes "a good day".
