I can't imagine he will be out long - if they really are telling the truth on his injury, the surgery they would do is an outpatient procedure and most people are back to work within days. Granted, doing want he does my need an extra week or so but i would be surprised if he missed Daytona.

Unless its worse then they are saying in that press article.

If he is out for Daytona, I want Gilliland in the car, currently doesn't have a job, and in crap equipment, he has been damn good for 5 years at the plate tracks, not just that one two at talladega 3 years ago, many others as well. Anyway, money is on Sadler hopping in car I would guess.

If he really is out - then the article about his injuries is BS.... Or he does not want to be there for some other reason.

Cant imagine him not wanting to be there, and if he had another reason, he would have dreamed up the injury sooner to give time to find a replacement driver. And there are credible witnesses to him being in Glamis last weekend.

who knows the extent of the injuries, the talking heads are all guessing as well and thinking he will be gone for a few months, but, who the hell knows. I think if he can be there, he will, I think the last chance at the 500 is his main goal this year, racing at vegas and the other early races he probably doesn't care much about, I guess we will all be waiting for him to announce something in a week or so. Not much available talent in the pool to fill in, especially at the 500 and licensed for cup plate tracks, even Labonte who would be solid has a ride for the 500, nothing really in xfinity to pull besides Allgaier, Bowman, and Sadler in the Chevy camp, only people licensed or capable of being for the 500, toyota is a hell of a lot deeper in the lower divisions, now that Chase and Larson are full timers. Cole Custer will be something though in a couple of years, only question will be whether is Danica or Kurt that gets the boot at SHR.

According to eye witnesses who were with the group, it was a pretty bad wreck and Tony was lucky to get out with only the injuries as reported. Fortunately he was with others when it happened and help was on scene.

Probably will be Bowyer.

I dunno, 5 hour energy and Visine have laid down their money on him, not the HScott car, and Bass Pro and Mobil 1 are on the 14, and want to be, I think thats where the issue will be with moving him over early, not with the driver being able to move

Doctors are saying that he is going to be out for at least 3 months. He will have to wear some sort of body cast apparatus. Doctors are saying he exploded a vertebrae in his lower back and had surgery yesterday in Charlotte North Carolina. I hate to say it, (I was really looking forward to his final year) but it looks like it's going to be on delay for at least a few months. I really wonder if he'll even come back? Talk abut a guy has had some bad luck. If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

Kidding right..? He's a lot of things but lousy driver isn't one .
Stewart's the last of the drive the wheels off anything racers.
Sprints (wing/non wing)midgets, dirt mods (Big block/small block)indy cars,stock cars...he's won in EVERYTHING he's driven.
Part of the reason he wants to retire is so that he can go back to just having fun running dirt short tracks...

As far as the dumbass kid who jumped out of his car & ran across the track...
Autopsy showed he had marijuana in his system.
Stewart was proven innocent.
