That cloud cover tells me it was a little humid, there was more in it if they could keep it hooked up, maybe the humidity helped them.

Two things:
1)That's damn impressive, beautiful pass!

2)Memories of sitting in the stands at Pomona as a kid. Watching T/F, Amato, Hill, Ormsby, Garlitts and the like...wondering if I'd get to see a 4 second run. This may have qualified for the field then

I mean is a pro mod with doors cut out really a door car...lol

Bad ass regardless but some of these cars aren't really cars anymore ;):D
Exactly what I was thinking.
The small tire cars are really impressive to me. 👍
small tire?! What in the hell constitutes a big tire car then? Those meats were quite tall and looked like they were about 15" wide. That rear end looked like it couldnt have been much larger than the pumpkin at all.

In that case.... that aint no small tire car. Look at the burnout. Those look like they are 14 or 15 inches wide.
I haven't followed the small tire stuff for awhile but I know they were running over 150mph, probably faster now. @RitcheyRch would probably know, a 10.5w doesn't count as a 10in tire. They're almost 12in wide

We usually refer to the Radial cars, as small tire.
Todd Moyer runs an Outlaw Pro Mod car, not a RVW (Radial Versus The World) car.

Looks like a straight up Hoosier slick. Is there something I am missing?

You're not missing a thing. That is a Hoosier slick. That's an Outlaw Pro Mod car.
This is a huge event in Florida. They have small tire cars down there too. I even saw some Pro Stock's yesterday.
I love doorslammers

My good buddy jumped camp at Mike Janis racing and is now driving under the Rickie Smith banner. 2 hard heads should be interesting. When asked in an interview with comp plus “ how long will it take you to get used to all the added switches in a nitrous car ?” My bud Mike says “ still not as many switches as my copters I think I got this “. We will see how he does As he has been a blower guy forever.

All this stuff is so incredible it is hard to imagine what is next….

The trials, tribulations and engineering that just the engine above represents would be mind boggling to most gearheads.

I'm kind of a gearhead, and just looking at that motor is mind boggling!

Kind of like looking at a supermodel. You have no idea what language she speaks, or what performance she's really capable of. Utterly clueless, but you know you still want to take her for a spin!

The engine itself isn’t really mind boggling. It’s the fuel system, clutch/converter, gear combos, and chassis setup that’ll get you. The engines are surprisingly simple, built to survive (I say that having been around blown hemis at BAE for a minute or two). It’s affordable for its capabilities too.

You know thats a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme if things for what it takes to run one of these types of cars right? I’m pretty sure you do.
20 years ago, in a TAFC, to go 5.5x’s, we had weekends that had cost in upwards of $20-30k between parts and other expenses. Granted, those were bad weekends and weren't the norm, it just goes to show how expensive this shit is. I bet Moyer has a few spare bullets too!

You want out the window crazy…..

I just had this conversation with a close friend of mine. There's probably close to $500k in development and production in something like this splayed valve 6 cylinder for Comp eliminator. It can make other forms of drag racing seem “not as bad” 😂
