Very well put Dave! We need to be supporting this industry and be trying to bring people together instead of push them away.. Honestly, it can be hard posting as an advertiser and builder on forum sites because you never know the responses you will get... If you like it great, post something positive! Do not try to be the big man and just be negative to ones approach (that is what PM's are for)...

This site is great and is getting better ever day! The people and the postings are kick ass! Lets all look towards the future and make this the best place we can!

-Eric

Glad to see you guys posting on here. :) You guys should get a sample from NanTech coatings for your parts.. I have a sample, and this is going to be the future for all things polished, and annodized.

I aint shit, I don't kiss ass, but I post anyway, and don't care if nobody likes me!

That's good, because nobody likes you. :champagne:

Cool news, Dave. Your personality and hands-on management style is what makes this place click.
It most definitely has a nice social vibe that most forums lack.

And here's a pic of a bad ass boat racing in Florida just to piss Froggy off. I'm an equal opportunity aggravator. :D

We don't often get to chat with advertisers. Welcome to the site and I know I look forward to what you bring to this place.

I don't often chat with black guys, but when I do, I prefer Tyro. ;)

I'm not dumb, I know there is a quota in the keys. You almost have to not to look suspect.

Sounds good an all but the problem with this place is the click is too thick. If you ain't one of the in crowd you ain't shit and the click will let you know that in a hurry.

I been a lurker for a long time and Im afraid of what this post will bring but I had to tell you Dave that this place has 2 crowds - the in crowd and everyone else.

No one feels comfortable unless your part of the incrowd and no body wants to kiss enough ass to try and get in to that group.

Frist off, Hello and Welcome.
I lurk more than post, but this place is not like the old HB forum. Back in 2004/2005, I had been lurking on the HB forum for a while and after I jumped in one of my first post to the forum was I was looking for a new truck to pull my Howard bullet and I made the mistake of asking for opinions on the Nissan Titan truck (foreign manufacturer), it was all downhill there, tarring and feathering, ostracism, death threats where common at that site...

It takes everyone to make this forum great, from mods to members and I appreciate all the info on this forum. There is a lot of knowledge here, most of the posters here are helpful and civil, just ask a question, you can get an educated answer on almost anything.. For me I enjoy the photos, the trips, the stories, the buying and selling etc.

Thanks Dave ... We are happy to be part of the team!

In case anyone is curious about our coating visit our website it is pretty self explanatory.

We offer a permanent clear coating service that protects polished aluminum from dulling due to corrosion so that you never have to polish it again!

Also our coating works well for anodized aluminum in 2 ways...first it gives it a luster and really brings out the color and it also drastically reduces the fade time due to the UV blocker in the chemical make up of the coating!

Do you polish and coat or just supply the product? I have 3 cars with rims I am sick of dicking with:thumbsup

My take....

This place is addicting!!
I started as a lurker. I have a production boat so I didnt think I really fit in with the performance boating crowds. So I just hung out for a while reading. Then I then started posting a bit. A couple years ago I found out about the off-road bbq and decided to go. I met more people than names I could remember. I was in a crowd getting to know some when someone asked me if I had just signed up. Before I could respond RD said 'no, hes been around for a while.' Holy shit! How has this guy seen my activity?? Well, I have gotten a chance to talk to Dave and quite a few others now, and I will tell you, this board is like no other!! The people here are here for the people. The smart ass stuff that goes on, for the most part, only can go on because the people here know its mostly in good fun. You cant joke with people you dont get along with.
So to the newbies who are thinking about jumping in... do it!! You wont regret it!
As for the clique, it is there only because that group is able to spend alot of time together. They know each other well!! I will say this though, anytime I have run into anybody at the river or at the races or just out, the group has always been very welcoming to me. Outside of this place, the group of friends I have around home are really boring!! So I have ventured out over the last couple of years. I have gone to different events where other RDPers were going to be (usually by myself), and every time I have felt welcome! Now, dont show up and be a D'bag because you will end up in the drink faster than you can blink!! Good people = good times!!

Thanks RD.

Cool deal, sounds like next time I buy tires I'll be shipping them your way. Question number 2, One set are detailed Porsche alloys. They are paint/ polished combo, can you do anything with them or is that a no go? Porsche+fuchs+alloy.jpg

Love this: Don't ignore the obvious... it is rude. If a chick has an awesome rack, it is disrepectful not to acknowledge it. :thumbsup

Well RD, how about a newb's forum? Like a lunch table for the new kids at school. They can dip their toes in, get em wet and see if they like it.....pick on the new kids...you get a night in the box. Can you set a limit so that once a member has too many posts they can't get into it....? ;) Once they get a hundred posts they are pushed out of the nest and have to deal with the rest of the lunatics in here. LOL

As much fun as this place is.....its a business for you. More views = more advertisers = more bucks. If the asshats get too deep sometimes you have to sweep em out the door. I have met some totally cool people through this website. Like Froggy says, man...get involved. Read a lot, post some, you'll get comfy in here.

Yeah i can coat over the paint it will bring some luster back in it and keep it from fading much further. I suggest throwing a show polish on the whole rim and coating them. But if you like the black we can leave it, repaint it, or powder coat it back on there...you have plenty of options.

Actually right now the rims are show polished with no black, I was going to send them over to my buddy that owns a powder coating business and have him powder coat the black area back again then clear the whole thing. Only problem with powder is eventually it will peel. I am going to put them on this car:thumbsup photo.jpg

I am not in the "in crowd." Don't hang out with any crowd. Work a lot and escape to the water. There are two worthy Boat Sites that I enjoy.

We have a House in Mohave Valley, Fort Mohave, AZ. Play and Boat on the River with Jet Ski's and a clean old Boat that gets great gas milage. We run the River from Needles to Lake Havasu and spend time in Parker and Mohave. Love to see the "build threads" learn more about boats and have begun to go to Boat Shows in the area. This site differs from the other and is more relaxed with a great mix of charachters. There are times when I have laughed so hard there are tears in my eyes. It's just the Net and post away. Most of this stuff is fun bull crap and should not be taken too seriously. I do not have to be a "baller" or "mechanic" or even a Boat Expert to enjoy the water.

You will find that the true depth and quality of the people that contribute to the daily chatter are, in fact, pretty classy and do not hesitate to help someone in need. If you are looking for information or asking a question you will recieve many responses. That's what makes it a fun place.

Hint: I woudl recommend keeping away from the Politic Section. Lot's of passion in there. :p

Thanks DtB- Already looked up the serial number online. It's a 1958 Silent 6. Ordered a gasket set and a shop manual for it. Someone said I should paint it red and turn it into a bad ass garage blender.

I want to stick my foot up someones ass every time I hear it.. A joke is a joke, but jesus that is played out, just like parkers closed. Played out, come up with something new, move on. If that's your sole purpose in life is to sit there and correct grammar on a board, that is sad. I mean seriously.. Boatnam could barely string a sentence when he first joined the boards, and other members you damn near needed a translator. Jim is one of the coolest guys to party with at the river and has had some bad ass rides that I'd be very envious to own.. Luckily he has thick skin, and doesn't dcare.. But how many cool guys like that have been run off because of dumb shit like this? I think about it everyday.

RD

X1000.

Not that my opinion really counts but i think that the "clique" here will be hard to overcome, especially if your goal is to expand.

I can barely stand to open any threads and post anymore, besides the hunting section and the tapatalk picture thread. The pics are good, the posts not so much

Do members have to own a boat or can they be boating enthusiasts who don't own a boat? (like enjoy boating with friends)

Do members have to boat in the Havasu area or can they enjoy boating elsewhere?

Yu don't have to own a boat, just be into them. I've been a member since '09 and just bought my first boat.

The people here boat all over. Yes most of them do their boating on thriver or in Havasu...but it doesn't matter:thumbsup Welcome to RDP

I ask because IF you (Dave) want to get more website participation from a broader area you need to get people to lighten up with their criticism of non boat owners and those who enjoy boating outside the Havasu area.

If your website is intended only for boat owners in and around Havasu then you're doing a good job now

No way this place is for just boat owners . It's for everyone into boating.

Look around a little and you'll see it's not the way you think. There's people from all over here. And don't fall for this clique bullshit. A lot of us know each other personally so we talk that way to each other. Don't take anything personal and jump in.

The original....or the one with the cigar chopped in? :D

LOL... That chop was hilarious..... I was actually the one that took that pic. Or maybe it was my wife. I think it was me though. I have the original. In a printed version. Took it with my Canon rebel old skool 35mm cam. Just before all those cameras went digital. I have some good pics from that trip. I think that was a Dam Run or maybe OP6 @ Mojave.

I haven't owned a boat in years, and haven't gone to havasu and parker even longer. Besides, Parker's closed!

I just recently bought a project 22' Nordic. Won't be running for atleast a year. And when it does, I sure as hell ain't taking my family to Parker or Havasu. Mojave north of Cottonwood. Elsinore for local stuff.

As long as you don't own a jet bote, you will be fine.:D
