We ended up sneaking up a day early. Gonna hang out in Havasu with Lurker Jim and his family. May end up pulling boat bitch duty all weekend to let him burn off some fuel.
Speaking of fuel.. That’s a big bitch out there cruising around.

We’ve done the same the last 2 weekends. Next week is going to suck doing a full 5 day week.
Oh well, I’ll worry about that later. Off to Havasu

Big reason we started doing Wednesday night to Monday night.
traffic Thursday sucks, much easier on wednesday
work from the trailer Thursday / Friday mornings, take afternoons off
Damn, i gotta figure out how to get out earlier and keep my job. Barstow In and Out was SLAMMED. The line was in the street heading in. That’s a Friday evening/Sunday afternoon line with Vegas in full effect.

That’s tough. We’re just starting to get going again. Currently, i can only travel to drivable locations with no overnight stays. Got a heads up that flights are being scheduled for short trips starting soon. We’ll see how it goes. It’s changed at the last second too many times to get my hopes up. I haven’t seen half my team in 5 mos.

we have been slammed - August so far is what month 3 in Q4 is usually like.
until customers get back into offices and then allow folks in conference rooms, large software in-person demos are grounded. Zoom is becoming the standard now :(

Friday is just as busy as the weekend at LOTO. When we wanted a three day weekend we always took Monday off.
Now working from home it’s a cycle of 3 weeks at the lake and then one in KC.

It would be great to never do another zoom, webex, team video call again. Every jackball in the office wants a video chat instead of a quick email. Damn virtual happy hours and touch bases. It is out of control.

Yep. We usually head out Thursday morning and stay until Monday or Tuesday just depends on my mood or if the better half wants to get home and see the grand daughter

Before Covid we were on the Thursday lunch and leave town plan. I just would not schedule client visits on Thursdays or Fridays.

Working remote through September. We currently stay in Havasu Friday through the following second Monday. Drive home to Mesa for three days (Trader Joe, Costco run, some work) and then back to LHC. Funny thing is I have been working remote for 15 years pre covid. I was kind of looking forward to upgrading my wardrobe and using the company state of the art work out facility. Oh well...not complaining and the wife is happiest on the water. Best therapy ever.

My usual work week i need to be in Orange before 6am for the first update/recap meeting. I have one golf shirt in Havasu that i throw on to get “dressed up” for chats. Gonna be strange to go back.

I've been spending extended time at the river due to WFH. Usually come out for a week or two when it used to be only the weekends. I work in the tech industry, most of the big tech firms have already announced that they are going to let employees work from home until July '21. If my company follows, I'm going to spend fall through spring out here and go home to Colorado on the weekends to ski, lol.
