Remember that Havasu is a manager ran government…the police chief as referenced in another thread was hand selected by the city manager as someone who would be different than Doyle….

Mayor River Dave sounds very plausible at this point.......just saying !! If I was a full-time resident of Lake Havasu City, I'd be highly concerned about the above stated comments (if true) by the city manager because there is no excuse for the city to be running in the red and unless they can prove where all the money is going down to the last penny, I too call bull $h%t on that statement of lost tax revenue. 2+2 will never equal 5 so what's really going on is the question residents and business owners better start asking now!

I got a parking ticket this past Thursday for not being in a marked spot...I wasn't on a red curb, not blocking anything and no signs anywhere saying no parking. The police presence was very noticable.

All I know is that if they're going to harass or gives these guys with hot rod to loud of car tickets maybe they. Should go to the car shows and start writing out tickets?
For people having too nice of cars at car shows makes about that much sense.

I would bet 95% of Havasu officers are members here or at least lurkers and all but a few would hate this assignment. There are always a few heartless miserable assholes in every department.

That being said.... The chief leads the department and if the chief doesn't have a backbone or is beholden to the City Manager and council the entire city suffers.

I miss the tradition of the golden handshake / golden parachute when only the guy who was already eligible to retire would decide to work one or max two years more to bump their retirement.
It lead to a chief who didn't want the title and would stand up for what is right for the City and the department's future.

Give me the chief with integrity and nothing to lose not the chief who wants the title or needs the job because they will do whatever the city manager wants because they have everything to lose.

Ya the signs up and down the channel something like 'Break the law and go to jail'. Got rid of those for nicer more friendly accommodating signs figuring boater money was pretty much the life blood of this town.
