Instead of my normal sunset photo of the lake, here's today's view.
fixedWhat lake is that BRRRR?
Lavon. It's about 8 miles west of McKinney. What lake is that RRRR?
It's been raining lightly for the last 2 or 3 hours. It's gonna freeze the snow into ice on the roads and highways after sundown and into tomorrow morning. We are staying above freezing so just getting rain. Pups are getting bored
Told my son we aren't going out today....let all this stuff settle down a bit. I suspect a few days of this weather with ice possible. Is that what you are expecting as well? It's too bad I don't live in Plano anymore. It's always big entertainment to watch my fellow Texans navigate that ice.
Yeah. They're saying rain until late tonight. After it freezes the fun will start.Told my son we aren't going out today....let all this stuff settle down a bit. Have you been up to Texoma to boat ever, looks like a nice lake. I've had a job offered before in McKinney. Looks like a nice place to live.Lavon. It's about 8 miles west of McKinney.
We went to Texoma a few times, it's about a 90 minute haul. Most of the time we were on Lavon, because of the many friends, the ability to parasail from the island, and the crappie fishing. It was a 30 minute drive from our home in Plano. Now there's a boat ramp about half mile from home.Have you been up to Texoma to boat ever, looks like a nice lake. I hear you, I'm 62 and hope I can still boat for another 10 years or more. I too wear all those hats as a boater, lol.We went to Texoma a few times, it's about a 90 minute haul. But I don't think we'll be buying another boat. My physical infirmities are such I don't think I'm up to being the mechanic, cleaner, operator, hauler, and all the other stuff that you don't notice when you're not an old fucker.
McKinney and Frisco are both really nice.
I found out a couple of days ago a friend has a nice glitter boat on a lift at the biggest marina on Lavon. I'll be going crappie fishing in the spring. Turning the lever on a boat lift is within my capabilities.I hear you, I'm 62 and hope I can still boat for another 10 years or more. I too wear all those hats as a boater, lol.
I sold my last boat at 63. It was still fun to go out, but my wife was no longer up to helping, and i didn’t enjoy all of the before and after stuff. Sold our vacation place shortly after that as well. We prefer to let the ship’s crew handle it now, while we sit at the aft bar.I hear you, I'm 62 and hope I can still boat for another 10 years or more. I too wear all those hats as a boater, lol.
We boat Texoma - It is a big lake and can kick up quick but there are so many places to go it is that big of a deal. This is out at the North Island which has really nice sand beaches in the middle of the lake.Have you been up to Texoma to boat ever, looks like a nice lake. Probably my own fault, as I always told our friends “I can handle it”, so when I could have actually used the help, it was no longer being offered. Of course, they’re all older now too.
That looks like a pretty sweet lake, nice taste in boats! We boat Texoma - It is a big lake and can kick up quick but there are so many places to go it is that big of a deal.
