Not sure what year that is but I have a '99 that was my former work truck. The frame under the 1/2 ton is horribly inadequate in that area. Mine has had to be welded and repaired on 2 different occasions.

It doesn't. Bed and bumper rust could be due to life as a pool guy that spills chemicals all over the bed, but that doesn't explain the front fenders and rockers. I could never live in the NE or mid west due to the effect the salt has on vehicles. It's disgusting.

I attempted to rebuild a front suspension on an east coast car one time. Yeah, that was fun. It would not come apart. Cut everything out and replaced with west coast upper and lower control arms, bolts, and new bushings. Learned a lesson on that one.

With exhaust bolts broken and a fun extraction ahead….lol.

Fuck rust belt cars….
In working trucks, those things spit manifold bolts like sunflower seeds. Doing them in the truck is fun, but pays ok...doing them on the stand, cake walk ;)

Yeah...now add salt. Nothing is fun when you add salt. (or mag chloride brine for the nitpickers).
we are just starting to see how bad that brine is. road salt was bad enough and if you hit a wash with under spray a few times a winter it was OK.

the brine they spray all the time. snow or not, they spray. it is always on the road and turns to dust. that is getting everywhere, places where washing does not work completely. vehicles are starting to rot like ziebart days.

and people still drive fast, find the spot that still had ice, wreck, and then blame anyone other then the idiot holding the wheel. but, they were probably smart enough to wear their seat belt. the car told em to.

About 4:45 yesterday I was heading North on 95 and that truck was stalled going South in front of the Safety Center entrance on 95, causing a small backup. Wasn't there about an hour later heading home.😁

Shit, I live in N.Y. With a mig and a couple metal scraps I'd get another 2 years outta that truck. That was somebodys pride and joy at one time.
