I haven't posted anything until now, I dont like to speculate and just reading this stresses me out! Bad deal for all around, I hope the boat owner is paid in the end.
RD stood up for a guy that he had a good history with, much like anyone else would have. Not his fault THIS time the guy screwed up, how would he have known. All we can do is base our present decisions off of our past history, and what we know as fact in the moment. Dave had nothing but multiple positive deals with OCM (past history) and witnessed OCM's wire transfer tracking (present facts). It went bad....RD now has a mess on his hands but now he knows OCM has issues. Can't blame RD

Yeah I agree. I don't think anyone here is blaming RD for anything. Honesty, we feel bad for him because he stuck his pecker out there for the guy and he got smacked. That sucks. That's a shitty feeling no matter who you are.

We all love and respect RD for this site and for him taking the time to keep it going. We are just problematic children and we love to pull his strings when we see him getting nutted up.

Hopefully Dave can get Danny's boat to safety and hopefully other members can do the same. Once things get shut down and locked up, its going to suck for all the honest folks.

Very likely they will initially. The proof of an actual crime will be in OCMs own paperwork and banking records. The cops will need to get that stuff in order to sort things out. They will want to talk with the owner once they get a sense of what the records are telling them. All of this will take time. Dude won't see a booking cell for some time, if at all.

Sounds like OCM is a giant house of cards that is finally beginning to crash. If you have anything there, get it while the getting is good.

They buy shit with owner contracts etc. I would bet money this guy doesn't own shit, anyone screwed by this guy is out of luck. The guy will prove out to be a turnip. His personal belongings will disappear, other than that, there is nothing left. He wont get more than 5 years in jail either. He will pop up again, in another town in another state, same type of deal. This stuff is common in the boating industry, and only in the boating industry. Every other industry comes down to more than talk, but not this one. Lots of trust in this industry from manufactures, banks and suppliers. Guess it comes down to be a non necessity on custom made products. Guys that make you feel comfortable and trust worthy are guys you buy from or let sale for you. Wouldn't do the same with your house or car, but boats... for some reason it's different.

Get a copy of the 'working invoice' with every shop you work with, the honest ones will be happy to do so .

Make notes on that same invoice, every time the shop calls you with a change .

NEVER allow any brokerage to have and control your property more than 30 days at a time, without YOU contacting them for an info update .

This is ONE brokerage out of a number in Havasu . These kinds of business practices are NOT THE NORM, don't blame all the others . Keep your self protected .
