So I stopped at coyne last Friday at closing time to grab a air filter
Left with wheels ๐Ÿ˜
Big O at 7am Saturday. While it was on a jack I figured I would look close at everything. Something has felt 'uneasy' and not relaxing at speed
Grabbed the front wheel and lifted etc, yeap A arm bushings are toast. Ton of slop

Scrap the dirt for the day and order new bushings from S3.
Tow it home and begin tear down at night after work .

Go to remove winch cables and a post spun in the motor. Yeap it broke the wires at the brushes. Emailed super winch, day later the reply is the model is discontinued. Shit.
The option they gave is a new $500 unit. Fuck that.

Take it to my tool tech, he resolders the wires and says your screwed getting this back on with spring load brushes. He was right. MacGyver it back together, done.

Pull A arms, which was not difficult but time consuming and WTF on bolt access.
New bushings in tonight and start to reassemble.

Last bolt, which is tack welded to a plate breaks the tack. Fuck.
To replace this plate deal the entire front trans needs to come out. Another wtf
I cut the bolt and get it out.
Now off to the bolt store tomorrow.

My back is jacked up. Turns out I'm 54 with a back of a 80 year old. I knew jet skies and construction would catch up to me.

At least I have plans Saturday now

I've got to set aside time to tear into mine to learn about these things. I've got a couple of worn items that need to be changed, like Hiem joints. The big thing for me is gaining access to the plug that allows the machine to be scanned. When they built this car, they buried that plug inside a Carbon Fiber dash.

I suspect I have a charging issue that is impacting my power steering. The overhead light bar throws a low-voltage code on the switch pro as soon as you turn on the other accessories. Maybe I'm naive, but it seems like you can disassemble the whole car pretty quickly. Much easier than changing a transmission in an Ultra4 car.

the chassis is great. 3200 miles of washboard and this the first time the front end has been apart. That's actually incredible. Also, Im replacing items that wear out, nothing is broken. The bolt snafu is just one of those things.

Laughing my ass offโ€ฆ
My neighbors have the exact same issuesโ€ฆ with their Canned Hammms and RZRโ€™s.

ANDโ€ฆ Thats why I own a KRXโ€ฆ 3400ish miles and pretty much no failures to date, unless you count the leaking shock next to the exhaust manifold. Pretty sure I fixed that, by modifying the stock exhaust which runs at much lower temps now. I am still on the original CVT belt.

The great thing about Can Am chassis and suspension failures is that they can be predicted almost to the mile. :)

KRX is a well built car.. it is also among the slowest.. so it better not break.

Im a Kawi fan for decades. They helped me out early in my jet ski race days. Id buy a KRX if they get some HP into them. It would need to be green though

whats next for my Can Am Nostradamus? Id like a little heads up!

Start looking for stress cracks in the trailing arms.

If you didnโ€™t do any upgrades to the rear hubs.. key an eye on those too. Check the toe link bolts for fatigue.

Shit, better start inspecting every aspect of where the suspension (shocks, a arms etc etc) bolts to the frame.
I have seen buddys rip that chinese metal to shreds on basic shitโ€ฆ

Yes it happens on the KRX also. You need to beef up all of those areas, or risk totaling your machine if you turn it in for insurance repairs.

I did a very deep inspection up front. No issues.
Do the trailing arms tomorrow during alignment

You might want to replace your ball joints while your in there and have everything torn apart.

I have the Big Keller rebuildable on my car but the stocks work fine. Save the old ones as a back up - JIC !

How in the fuck does one get 3200mi, running off road, and not have one single rock chip or scratch!?!?

Oh wait...

You said Lake Havasu. This must be a grocery getter. Sorry, my bad. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜

approaching 4k miles in my XX, everything is still tight as a drum. Ocotillo wells, quartzsite, northern arizona fire roads, and local desert trails around phoenix.

Amazing what happens with appropriately sized hardware and bushings that are captured in double shear.

Polish up the plastic makes the bruises less noticeable.
