I was curious as well about the power and build... Couldn't imagine it running very long or very fast. I think they should've stuck with the Viper motor for this beauty

That's a beautiful boat. I've always loved the wooden boats and the craftsmanship put into them. Can't imagine the upkeep of one of them. I don't even want to wash my boat half the time.

This is like a giant (and beautiful) Duffy. It uses a 4.2 kilowatt motor.

For comparison:
Duffys are powered with 2 - 3 kW motors
The Tesla model S uses a ~310 kW motor

Gorgeous boat. Not crazy about the drive train though. Definitely not too sure about pod motor on a river (If I'm remembering correctly, the pods hang below the boat and pivot to steer and such), and I'd really like to at least be able to get on plane and cruise with it. At least I can't imagine a wood boat of that size being able to move very fast at all with that small of a motor.
