Thinking about getting another dog

Pretty much decided to get another dog. Either one a few months old or more or another puppy. Also deciding between Rottweiler again or German Shepherd. Male or female.

I love Rottweilers. Preferably bitches.
I've had 6 over the last 27 years. They all have been great dogs. My one deaf male rescue was kind of a prick the 1st year, but came around. Worst part about the male was taking him camping. He would try to piss on everything. Tents, coolers, chairs, wheels..

After 3 Labs I tried a German Shepherd. I would do it again, she's awesome and she goes right in the pool just like her Lab brother.

Just get one of both

Throw a Doberman into the mix and you have the trifecta of German home (or camp) security systems

I didn't realize how talkative GS's are until we got one. He'll start up then I start up and the "Conversation" will go on for a few minutes or until the wife gets pissed off because I'm messing up her hallmark episode

Male female always is the safest bet from my experience. I just left our Female at my Moms for the weekend and no issues. Mom has her brother from a previous litter I had. They get a long great. My other option was leave her with her parents. Her Mom kicks her ass right away when I am there to let her know She is dominant. Dad gets a long great with her. I have had 2 sisters and 2 previous males that would get into it occasionally and it was a bloody mess everytime. Finally just separated them.

I have had 1 perfect female in 28 years of owning Shepherds. Had numerous that were not social. Currently have the 8 month old Stormy. She is a handful. Spending thousands in training and lots of time socializing. Currently trying to break her leash aggression. Off leash no problem now with other dogs. Also have to break the water hose craze. Forgot to warn my Mom and she tore up her hose while watering. This is her after taking the hose from my Lady.

Our dog is quite vocal as well. I'm guessing most German shepherds are?

This is our girl Remington, she was definitely a handful in her younger years, she's gotten a lot better as she gets older, she still hates men though, any women, kids (boys or girls) and shes totally fine....but an unknown adult male comes around and she loses her shit...

A buddy in Europe had a dog that looked like the biggest and most perfect German Shepard you could imagine. He described the breed as Alsatian. Not sure if that a GS side breed? But, that was one beautiful and intelligent dog.

He’s technically short hair but his coat is longer then normal.

I got a new pup, what is up with the water hose deal? she goes crazy.

At the dog park they have water taps in various places to give dogs water. Bella likes drinking straight from the tap. Scratch that she loves the water straight from the tap. If someone turns on a tap she races over to get a drink. It scares some people.

Contacted a few breeders. Rottweiler's are between $2k and $3k for the most part. One guy wants $5k per puppy. He has 12 puppies coming soon. That's $60k worth of puppies.

I've thought about breeding my females. I've had three females intact. But always come to my senses and say do I really want all that work for little money.

Talked with the breeder of my boys grand father. He remembers the breeder I got my boy from. That breeder past away from cancer a few years ago. I was going to show my boy in CA with her and his brother. She got sick and we canceled the trip.................................... Thinking maybe another show quality dog and may even show them.
