Laser thermometer so you can check hub temps while towing..

Let’s ya know if you are going to have a problem.. after 20 minutes of towing they are all within 5 degrees..

I just touch them when I'm halfway at Barstow lol. But I do need one of those for tire temps for racing!

Excellent road tool and cheap insurance. I use one for all my trailers and check the tires, discs, and axles. Not for a single temp so much but to ensure that the tires are close to the same as are brake discs and axles. If one is wildly out of range, I know to check further for a more serious problem. Typically sample air pressure in the tires at the same time.

Great advise…although we tow from Palo Verde North and the highway to Windsor…probably won‘t heat in up
our commute.

Been doing that for a bit. Usually the hand check, but do carry and will use a thermometer if something doesn't feel right.
Impact and correct sockets, truck and trailer, sit where I can get them with no hassle.

It works really well when towing trailers that aren't your "normals". Like inventory or stock trailers, things that may have different weights or placements. I use a a thermal imaging one for wheels and such, you can easily see the oddball. Also works (when cooler outside) to see draws on electrical, and even how much your exhaust heats up what you're towing.

My pops has carried one as far back as I can recall as a trucker.

So what does glowing cherry red/orange from the manifolds to the muffler mean? C-60, 350 governed 2bbl. Twist and lock PTO throttle 'cruise control'

Asking for a friend.

I always carry two spare wheel hub assemblies packed and ready. Floor jack and impact. Don’t need the wife and two little guys stranded because dads a dummy. Too easy not to be prepared.
Me too. But darnit, in all my years of carrying spare stuff around (including a spare MSD ignition in the boat), never once had to use them. It’s almost like some spiritual karma, if you’ve got a spare the original part is just not going to break down out of spite 😁
