Thru the dog door. alarm went off but nobody heard or did anything. i will be going to monitoring on it now. my place backs up to the pima wash and they can come and go that way. Neighbor saw the gate opened but by then it was all over

Sorry to hear, but those alarms are useless. It only tells the crooks how long they have to get your shit and get out.

I will be signing up for monitoring. I am 1/2 from police station so maybe will get good response. They even took all cables and remotes

Thieves suck! Last week I woke up to a busted passenger door window and the wifes purse missing...less than $20 in the purse, some gift cards, credit cards...and the address book, TRIPLE FUCK! So the cards are cancelled, $100 for a new window, a morning spent with paperwork...Basically they got $20 and some gift cards, we got a day of grief and lost a couple hundred.

Just talked to kid next door he heard alarm go off 3 times looked but didn't go to the back yard to really check it out or call cops. His house was broken into a little while ago and knows who did it. They will see if my stuff is there also then get cops involved

I would definitely say house alarms are better than car alarms in regards to notifying others. When a car alarm goes off, no one cares and people get annoyed until you turn it off. I would guess a house alarm doesn't go off that much so people wander outside to check it out. It sucks no one saw these dirtbags.

Not to be rude or take the wind out of your sails for your future plans but believe it or not they'll try it again because they are aware you are getting new stuff, you will be getting a new alarm or something so they'll be looking for that and they know the layout of your house and access points. Be 1 step ahead, tell your neighbors, set up the monitoring system, maybe new locks?, block all ways to get in, and def burglar proof your house when you leave (make it less appealing, leave lights on, etc.)

When I lived at home my folks house cars got broken into at least 3 times & I have chased people off my folks property in the middle of the night trying to get into the house, thieves are dumb look at all the TV shows, they always fuck up and get their fat face on video or leave evidence. The first time we got stuff stolen, someone accidentally left the truck door unlocked. but then we got hit 2 more times because they knew what we had or checked to see if things were unlocked (1 time a car door got pryed open). I'm no expert but good luck to you

and they prob do it all the time so all it takes is 1 time to get caught then everyone's stuff usually turns up. Sometimes you can find your stuff at pawn shops, craigs list, etc.

I made a cover for the doggie door using two pieces of one inch thick wood and a couple of stove bolts with wing nuts inside the house. May just slow them down though.
