All of us in the neighborhood went at least 5-8 times to see it. Might pull out the DVD today and watch again.

Around 8 Times rings a bell as well. Dave Aldana and "The Mile". Glued the entire time...felt like if I blinked I was going to miss something...lol.

This was the first movie I remember seeing at the drive in. Sat on lawn chairs in the back of my dads Big Block 66 Elcamino.

Same here but sitting in the back of a Ford Pick up. :thumbsup

The movie intro was all me. I was the first in the hood to put mx bars from a motorcycle on my bike. Everyobe else thought it looked funny, lol. Broke many frames and rims in my youth.
Bitchen flick, gonna gave to find some time for it.[emoji106]

Not only is this an awesome movie, the soundtrack is one that sticks with you. It's available on iTunes and when you hear each song you know exactly which part of the movie the song goes to even if you haven't seen the movie in years.

There went an hour and a half with a shit-eating-grin instead of working on a customer's proposal drawings.

My brother and I each had Hodaka Ace 100's when that movie came out, and like others here I've probably seen the movie a dozen or so times over the years.

Couldn't help noticing all the marque manufacturers that were there but have fallen by the wayside . . . Hodaka :p , DKW, Sachs, Penton, CZ, Maico, AJS, Greeves, BSA, Bultaco, Montessa, Ossa, . . . .

Penton was originally KTM from Austria - John Penton imported them and plastered his name on them.

Back when California was the motorcycle capital of the world. Pretty sure its illegal to own one there nowadays just like everything else is that state.

Brother and I knew Dave Aldana pretty well when we worked at "Lemars" in Orange. He was in the shop all the time. He must of been 18-21 at that time. What a wild and crazy guy.:yikes

Bruce Brown is the best, you could enjoy this movie and not really be into motorcycles

On of my favorite movies ever. We used to play that movie at a dealership I worked at. Anyone else remember the kid in the opening scene doing the wheelie on his bicycle? As a kid I would have killed to be able to carry a wheelie like that.
