If I weren't stuck at work today, I'd go down there. It's such a sight to see when it gets big.

I was thinking about the wedge yesterday when the local radio was talking about how big it's gonna get. I guess Malibu was going off yesterday. Closed the pier because pylons were knocked loose.

It's going to be very hard to park and hard to see anything on the beach it will be so crowded......been on all the news stations. But I'd still love to be there.

That break is scary, I wouldn't even get in the water there as a kid and ironically I got certified to scuba dive at the beach right next to it, Corona Del Mar

Went down there last night, sets were rolling in around 15 to 20 ft faces. There was 20 to 30 guys out, around 1000 people on the beach watching, 4 drones, 3 news vans, and 3 VERY nervous lifeguards pacing up and down the beach watching everybody. Pretty crazy, Im sure today will be even crazier with the swell increasing. This morning Channel 5 had live feed of 5 lifeguards pulling a surfer out that got caught inside, had to swim him out to the boat, rip tide was to heavy to swim in.

BTW, this is only for HB, but this is a much better surf cam for HB.

I remember waaaaaaay back in the day when Surfline's videos weren't limited to a few seconds. Hard to watch sets come in unless you pay.

I was driving up PCH this am to breakfast at Harbor House and saw some nice sets coming in.

I went out the other day. Lifeguard told me I had about 30 mins before they "balled" it (damn, I hate the summer crowds). Saw them pull some kid out in the boat who didn't know how to get out of a riptide. They bring the boat right into the surf and pull them out, it's interesting to watch.

I didn't get very many pics. I took a few videos; however, I don't know how to upload videos onto RDP.

Stopped at 18th and watched the guys surf for a bit, then headed down to the Wedge and took some videos. There was a sea of people down there. I locked my bike up next to the news van and when I went back to go get it, they were rolling. So I might be on KTLA tonight, I don't have local or cable television in my house, so someone will have to let me know if they see a brown guy with no shirt on unlocking his bike.

On the way back, I stopped at TK Burger, had lunch and sparked up conversation with some super babe from Spain. lol

I'm going to cruise back down to 54th in a couple hours and paddle out.

Last pic is of a Lemonade and ice tea stand I stopped at on the way home. Pretty neat because, I was just thinking about how a glass of ice tea would be too.

The 2nd pic is some Newport piggy riding his motorcycle on the board walk. WTF?ha

All in all, I had more fun than I would've working. :D

today will be worse.

such a strange California spot. Only in socal will 100 guys, 95 of them not real good, paddle out to a 20 foot close out. nearly ALL the waves are close outs. So you absolutely know the beating is coming. You don't see that anywhere else, Tahiti was huge last week for the Billabong pro, but the wedge yesterday was basically the same size, maybe not the same beating, but damn close.
To bad there aren't any good cams anymore, like someone else mentioned SurfLine is joke now

The rip was bad today to go along with the swell direction, went down to bolsa to take a walk and 2 guys got in the water at the same time, only 2 i might add, they literally drifted faster then i was walking and when i got to the end they we still in front of me 2 miles later.

I watched a few guys get the shit beat out of them yesterday. I sure and the hell hope they knew to cover their heads because that ocean floor will bite you in the head. :D

Ya, Surfline is such crap now. The cam for 17th is blocked by a palm tree for fuck's sake.

Does anyone have Verizon? Years ago when I had it, you could call #surf, then you enter your zip code and they'd give you pretty good reports for free.
