if your in OC you should be standing on the beach right now. Im trying to get there later today
I was just watching the surf cam on Surfline ... already a ton of people on the beach.
Ill be having lunch at Mutt's then ride down to the wedge to watch. Can't recall the last time it was 30'. A must see in person!
Went down there last night, sets were rolling in around 15 to 20 ft faces. There was 20 to 30 guys out, around 1000 people on the beach watching, 4 drones, 3 news vans, and 3 VERY nervous lifeguards pacing up and down the beach watching everybody. Pretty crazy, Im sure today will be even crazier with the swell increasing. This morning Channel 5 had live feed of 5 lifeguards pulling a surfer out that got caught inside, had to swim him out to the boat, rip tide was to heavy to swim in.
What's causing the big waves? Storm off shore?

today will be worse.
such a strange California spot. Only in socal will 100 guys, 95 of them not real good, paddle out to a 20 foot close out. nearly ALL the waves are close outs. So you absolutely know the beating is coming. You don't see that anywhere else, Tahiti was huge last week for the Billabong pro, but the wedge yesterday was basically the same size, maybe not the same beating, but damn close.
To bad there aren't any good cams anymore, like someone else mentioned SurfLine is joke now
