The video is about our local Okanagan custom builder JF Launier, owner of Killer Kustoms in Osoyoos BC, Canada.
JF is also an active track member at our track Area27. He's a Riddler award winner with his Buick Riviera. Interesting video that just place on Youtube a few hours ago. He would appreciate thumbs up if you have the time watching the 46 minute video.;)

This is JF's Riviera

Great looking car.
I actually went to Henry J. Kaiser high school in Fontana from 04-08. We had a Kaiser in auto shop that we’d work on from time to time, over the 2 years I was in that class/president. No clue whatever happened to it but always thought it would be a great car when done up.

I recently learned that Henry Kaiser founded Kaiser Permanente as a pre-paid health plan for employees in his California manufacturing facilities.

I recently learned that Henry Kaiser founded Kaiser Permanente as a pre-paid health plan for employees in his California manufacturing facilities.
This biography of Henry J. Kaiser is posted on the Kaiser Permanente website, and it provides a window into the life of the man considered as one of America's greatest industrialists.

Kaiser's drive to success and the incredible growth of his empire was facilitated by concern for his workforce, which, supported by the inception of his healthcare plan that now covers millions, peaked during World War II. His shipyards at Richmond in the Bay Area, Portland, and Vancouver, employed over 200,000 workers, and turned out masses of Liberty and Victory cargo ships.

It's an interesting read, and the achievements of his companies is an amazing story. This excerpt from the biography is emblematic of Kaiser's drive and vision:

With his first company established, Kaiser and his team set off to bid on their first construction job in Redding, California. They misread the train routes and discovered that there were no stops in Redding. They waited till the train slowed down near their destination and jumped off. The team won its first bid.

Lots of interesting history reading the wiki on Eagle Mtn and Desert Center and the aqueduct project and following where those take you.
I stumbled across it when doing to Google maps research on the A&C RR route toward Cadiz. I think I was training someone at the time.

I've met Edgar Kaiser Jr in Vancouver where he kept two of his yachts at the Barbary Coast marina. Both were made of aluminum, the SMALL one was 85 feet, the new one that was built in Japan was a 150 footer. Back in 1984 the 85 footer was re-painted at 85K dollars.
Both, the 85 and150 footer was painted same colour. One day, I saw the captain in a dinghy going around the yacht looking at the hull sides. I asked him what was he looking for. He said there was some imperfection in the paint. They took the yacht back to Japan to fix it, lol. Rich people's problem.
