Well, it's been a long haul but it was Maiden Voyage Day today at Eliminator Boats. This sv29 Merc 600 is running around Lake Elsinore this evening and we should have plenty of footage to follow. Here's some quick shots of the boat's "coming out" party ... :p

Teaser from our INSTAGRAM guy ...

What made you guys decide to use Shadow to build the trailer? I really like their work and am surprised that more companies aren't going with them instead of Extreme.

Boat looks amazing. :D

Will do Cam ... we blew through 90+ tonight and ran out of prop ... taking some 32s and 34s 5'ers down early tomorrow ...

Once we detail it for shipment, I'll do a full shoot ...

Does anyone know how many of these have been built? I have seen two orange ones then also a black and white and now this boat. Did one of these not also wreck? Does anyone know the details on what happened?

I was told a while back that this hull takes an experienced driver. No Joe Blow can just get behind the wheel and think they can drive it. Takes some seat time to get used to it. I would call Shue and talk to him, or Bob. They would gladly answer any questions you might have [emoji106]🏼

The orange one flipped.

If this boat does 100 m.p.h. I want a refund on my Daytona ;) ....a Daytona that has same exact power and set up, is 4' shorter, a catamaran and won't do 100 m.p.h.:rolleyes ;)

There were two(2) orange boats ... they "claim" is 103 with a 600, BUT they had a Whipple on it (got pix) ...

I've aeen photos of two different orange ones. A 600 merc already has a supercharger? Back to my question. Is this the first one Eliminator has built? And do you know how many OL built. I've seen four pleasure boats and one race boat. I would assume there are others though.

This one did 99 at LOTO in 1 mile with Fiore driving and stock Merc Racing 565 power. Be careful when comparing speeds, the drive height makes a difference on speed and difficulty to drive/practicality. Very fun boat!

I was thinking the same thing. That's a great speed number for a stock 600 on a 29 ft v bottom. Impressive. Looks like a three stepped bottom?

I don't see any steps on the Eliminator Sv29. I only see the transom notch. Also interesting to see it's a true V keel with no pad. I like that a lot! Maybe there is a single step on it that you can't see in the pics. With the steep bow deadrise this thing could be a true offshore runner.

This is the first one Eliminator has built. I have personally seen 4 29SV''S . The orange and blue one, the Orange one,the canopied race boat and now Eliminators model. And today the blue and white one in this thread. I don't believe there are anymore in existence.

This was our first ... and your right, there's only four runners and Doc's SMB racer.

In building this first one, we tried in vain to get a completed model to the factory for rigging reference purposes ... nobody said yes ... we made several runs to Havasu to look over the one at Horizon and run it on the water.

For reference, here's the bottom mold in fabrication ...

In the YouTube video about the original SMB Race Boat, I believe they say a "seven step hull" ... might not have been this one they sent us ...

Nice.

Does the Eliminator version go through the resin infusion/ oven process OL uses?

Wow, 4 steps plus the notched transom. I could not see the hull steps in the picture on the trailer but now I see what you mean looking at the open hull picture. Very cool Eliminator

Ya I've seen that one and like it a lot other than how the black runs up to the bow. There is also an orange one in Havasu. Though I don't think it is the same orange one that flipped.

Now I'm confused. Are both Outerlimits and Eliminator building the same 29 footer or is the deck the same and the bottom design different on each? :hmm

I think one of the earlier posts said different bottom? 7 steps or something? Maybe I'm confused too

My understanding is OL does not build them anymore. OL sent the molds to Eliminator and they pay OL a royalty on everyone built.

Nope ... they were here from R.I. for several months and supervised the entire process on this first "build" ... very complex ... a total of 19 MOLDS for this boat ...

I had no idea. That explains it all, thanks. Great to see an East Coast builder and a West Coast builder working together to refine a great boat. 19 molds, holy chit that shows Eliminator took the needed time. Awesome looking boat in a great size that works nicely for in todays market and for folks who don't have unlimited funds to spend.

Might be nice to also see an option that provides the new 2015 Eliminator Sv29 with a single Mercury 400R O/B. I know, not super fast but a very nice all around package and single = simple.

Another "key" difference in the build process East vs West, Outerlimits "paints" their boats ... we are exclusively "gel" ... never paint ...

Mike Fiore (RIP) was really taken back when our build come out some 200# lighter than any done in R.I. :cool

Any shots of what that cabin looks like? I have always thought my next boat would be a Howard. Want the closed bow with a useable cabin.

Keep your britches on,man.
I hope this doesn't shatter any illusions but the overall length is 30'.
However.Go back to post one and look at the pics again.See the shot from under looking at the transom. From the drain plug to the nose is 27',the notch, transom and swim step make the rest.

Not much of a cabin on this current model ... it really needs a deck re-design to accommodate anyone besides Holy Moly... :D

What's going to make this a truly West Coast Edition, is this Open Bow / Cuddy that we just put together for a new build/customer.

There's also a full walk-thru option that should be even more popular ...
