We are gonna put the new 250XS thru a torture test in Wyoming the next few nights since they shut down interstate 80. Gonna be -19° with windchill -50ish degrees while it sits in bed of my truck. I talked to HydroSkreamin & its all wrapped up best as possible.

I agree...he was a genius as well as a fabricator. Many don’t know he built his world record breaking boats out of his garage with used parts. He also had steel balls. I’ve been 150 mph on the water. I can’t imagine someone going 317....Ken did that shit decades ago!!This record breaking design came out of Ken’s natural intuition of what was needed to go over 300 mph.

I was lucky enough to sit down at a table with Ken for dinner and stories and hang out river side with he and his son. Hell of a character and I will remember that forever.

What's the advantage of the 250XS over the 300 Promax?

About half the fuel usage and will be similar in power.

300 pms only made 275 HP if they were lucky. A slide intake woke them up considerably.

Mercury decided to call it 300 to slot it above the 2.5 280.
