We used to have a shop in La Habra On Cypress just north of Imperial. There is a long stretched out curve right at our building. It wasn't really raining but the ground was wet and a guy in his new Corvette came down the street hauling ass and lost it. The car spun and hit a light pole. The woman that was in the passengers seat was cut in half. It still gives me the creeps thinking about it.

I don't like to click gory internet vids of death :thumbsdown

But with my own eyes, I watched hatchback that hit a tree head-on.
I got out and called for help, and see if there was anything I could do before the real help arrived.

The cargo area was filled with stackable wooden chairs.
The chairs flew forward on impact, a few went right over the headrest, and smashed the guy's skull like a pumpkin...brains and skull fragments everywhere.

I dunno how real first responders deal with this stuff.

That just ruined my lunch. And people wonder why I would never go back to Mexico.

This isn't the messiest thing I have seen but it definitely turned my stomach. I was in my clinical rotation for paramedic school and an 11 y/o came in that got dragged by a car. He was ok but most of his calf muscle had been disconnected from the tendon behind his knee and it was basically just skin and muscle kind of hanging there and you could see other tendons (that were intact) and vessels.

The doctor had to inspect what they had to work with so his started fishing around in there with his finger and the kid was screaming like crazy.

It wasn't the mess that got to me, but the combo of the doc fishing in the leg and the kid screaming was no bueno for a couple minutes

Child Birth :p

True that! A smell that can haunt a man!

I saw the video of a dude putting a glass jar in his ass. Once it went in, you just heard a loud pop and the blood started pouring out. I'll never be the same!

Sounds very disturbing for sure.

To my original post, I find it interesting that although disturbing and warned of the disturbing manner, people can't help but watch. And then complain about it? I actually found myself to be the same way in regards to watching it. Once told about, you almost have to see it although you really don't want to. Kind of like the 2girls1cup thing that has been referenced.

Life is disturbing and the evil in this world is even moreso.

From decapitations to burnt children traped under a tractor trailer. ive gotten a bit numb to it all over the years. U cant erase what uv seen u just have to live with it and manage.

Anybody ever listed to Bill Carrol on KFI? He was the one talking about it. He has a lot of good topics there.

http://www.kfiam640.com/pages/BillCarroll.html

I hope this link is okay.

I'm assuming you weren't referencing the creepy old timey photo of Nic Cage right?

Holy hell that was brutal, how the hell did neither of them even register a reaction? Anyone know what the story was?

You mean you don't speak Spanish? Rival drug cartels and they were captured. Begging for your life isn't going to save you in that situation so you might as well go out looking tough for the camera.

Where's that milling thread?

Where's that milling thread?

I live in Detroit, no necessito hablar espanol aqui.:D

The milling thread w/ a guy wrapped around a lathe?

I'd say if you don't flinch when someone cuts your head off w/ a chainsaw or buck knife, you're more than just "looking" tough.

You couldn't pay me enough money to do your job.

There are 2 incidents that stick out in my mind. Summer of 04 and winter of 06. Summer 04 I was called out to do an over the side between angleus oaks and big bear on the 38. The car was est. to be 230 ft over the side and down a 17% slope. Small honda civic that it and the driver had been reported missing for 2 weeks. She had had a heart attack and went over with no skid marks and no witnesses. Her car was found by a helo search. I had to rig a firefighter in my harness then winched him down to the car where he radioed to be brought back up straight away. They pow wowed with the coroner then came to me saying the car will need to be brought up with the body still in it. I said no prob but ill need to go down and rig the car to come up the hill. They looked at me and began to tell me dont look at the body and get back up as quick as u can. Perplexed I answered oook. went down with my chains rigged the car then of course looked at the driver. :p (should have listened.) The poor lady was so bloted she was unrecognizable. She had been baking in her car for 2 weeks. I climb back up and start to work my truck. Pulled the car over big rocks and small trees and it was brutal. When the car reached the top we stopped and the coroner went over and opened the door. (door facing me) as soon as the cool air hit the body it damn near decintigrated and she basically turned to soup. I was good till they started to shovel her out into bodybags. I almost lost breakfast but held it together. I was more grossed out by everyone else tossin there cookies then the body. Yuck!.

Then in winter of 06 I was rear ended while I was driving out big flatbed trailer. Its a big hydrulic ramp and the tail is like a knife. It was raining I was stopped. A young woman fast and out of control hit me so hard her car went under my tail and the edge hit her forehead. I had left it in gear with the clutch in and at impact it threw me fwd and I slipped off the clutch and lurched fwd enough to dislodge myself from the car that hit me. I walked back to see if the driver was ok only to find she was not. Still "alive" and moaning in pain her face had been peeled from her skull and was hanging where her cheek bones were. I have had dreams with her in them. That one is burned in my memory pretty good.

Holy crap did you just type that out loud?? Wanna know how I know that your :gayfight???

Child Birth :p

The child birth wasnt too bad, but that afterbirth thing, wow!!! :p

When I was a kid, we got to the scene right after a bad accident. One dude was ejected from his car and was wraped around a telephone pole. The pole was in the middle of his back, and his heals were against the back of his head.

Yup, you got me. I just admitted publicly that I'm a gaywad and I love searching the internets for gay porn.

Some of us had the unfortunate occassion to see Hoss post a pic of his frank and beans. But it looked more like a couple of red potatoes and a shrivled up vienna sausage. One of those pics where you didn't really realize what it was at first and took a closer look at it trying to figure it out....only to have that moment where you realize what you are looking at.:eek::eek::eek:

I have seen more fatalities up close and personal from vehicles hitting powerpoles in the last 25 years than I could assign a # to. Prob more than 50. Many @ speeds over 100, law enforcement chases and mostly alcohol related. Sometimes its hard to make out how many people were actually involved. My greatest fear is I roll up and its someone I know....or even worse....their kids. There is nothing worse than a scene of lifeless teenagers and their parts. I am a complete adrenaline junkie however, there are many reminders out there showing how fragile we are.
