The Magic Cable Boxes

Because we had a couple of threads going 100 different directions on the magic cable boxes, I created a forum at the top of the tech forum where members can ask a tech question in it's own individual thread, and BidDattyD can answer them. This will make it a lot easier to reference in the future, and if there's 20 questions, it won't be 20 different threads in the lounge about the cable boxes themselves. Please feel free to ask any question you want in there..

In the meantime, who got em? How do you like them so far? Did you guys stream the PPV fight? I'd like to keep the majority of the conversations in that section, but was just curious as to what people thought of them.. I freakin LOVE mine.

I got mine today and introduced my kids to CHiPs...one of the greatest shows ever and I haven't seen it in years. The box streamed just fine on my 25/10 FIOS and I'm looking forward to playing with it more...

How do I go about getting a Magic Cable Box?

I got one.

While it's not the magic end all, be all I was hoping, I'm still very impressed.

I was hoping to get it, just stream & completely ditch Directv. Unfortunately the waiting while navigating is going to keep that from happening. Everything is there, just not as quick and easy as regular TV.

So, I upgraded our internet & got the high end docsys modem, wireless I'm now running at 50mbps & have the box hardwired. Backed our Directv off to the most basic package & cancelled Netflix. Spent about 400 bucks but saving about 50 bucks per month. So, in 8 months it will have paid for itself & I will be getting all the new movies / PPV for free. Still a good deal & impressed, Dave has been easy to work with too.

First full day using it and so far it is great, slight buffering twice in 8 hours, but nothing like what my Dish does! I will be cutting the Dish package way back. I haven't got the trackpad remote to work yet but the one is ok.

Love my box and have had zero buffering issues. Rd you need to stock up and sell them on your store front

There is an on / off switch on the front of it. The USB antenna thing is inside where the battery is.

Box is great. Now if time warner can only get their internet straightened out i could use it! Have has techs out here 3 times now. Came home today and its dead again. Called TWC and they will have a tech right out.....next wednesday. 8 days to get somebody to look at it......

I'd love to get one but I don't have the time or patience I did when hacking satellite. With the movies you get, are they in theatre or released like redbox?
Secondly, how long is it taking you guys to completely figure these out?
