Turns out that is my cousin’s son. I hadn’t watched the news for some time. Just found out from my mother this morning. Sad news for sure.

Goat island..epic spot to find glass balls, walk the reef at low tides to catch urchins, small menpachi stuck in tide pools etc...
The large white ball off the island is the ledge.....water gets DEEP fast vs the 10-30ft the entire way to that point. Water is always small kine murky because of rain and shore break keeping the sand and dirt churned up....
There is EPIC tako and Kala diving there....except its known tiger shark ground...wild that there was an attack in that spot as they usually just cruise on by.
Sad to see such a well known waterman loose his life, may he rest peacefully.

Beautiful pictures and thanks for sharing. We are hoping to get back to Maui one of these days. We want to go see many of the things we missed during our first time there.

My good friend in SD just happens to be on a flight back today. It was going to arrive 2 hours before me. After a few issues and delays he is going to be here 2 hours after me. Never was even left out dither than the jet bridge. His day sucked!!!!

We miss being at PipeMasters this week. But the event really has been loosing its vibe over the past several years tho. Its always been its best when it was the “finals”. Crown a champion at the Superbowl of surfing at Pipeline.
Our last trip to Kauai was in October. It was the sunniest trip to Kauai ever!
Looking to be back in Oahu in May. (Seems so far away).
The “Lure” is real and its set.

Heading to Tampa this morning. Different crowd heading to Florida. One person with a mask in the entire waiting area. (And entire plane). Guessing the guy has a Harris/Walz sticker on his car still.

Safe, maybe. F’d up, yes.Yeah, Florida is a little different than Hawaii. You taking the safe route on American. Should have gone for the budget airlines for the fun factor. Safe travels Don.
10:30am flight out of Ontario to Dallas yesterday. We didn’t get to Dallas until 9:30pm. Circled Texas waiting for the airport to open. Stopped in Tulsa to get fuel, sat on the tarmac, and then finally to Dallas. Early flight to Tampa for 24hrs left of meetings and then back home.

We were lucky enough to do 10 nights in Kauai from Jan 2nd on. My mother in law lives here and let us stay in their little tiny home they made on their property. The kids loved it. Hard to return from this to our brisk socal weather lol. They never ever lock the house up when they leave, I never felt unsafe at all.
