Looks like that house has not ever sold.
I'm guessing your family still owns it.

A lot nicer than the 12X18 portal room in a 6 stories concrete building built in 1938 where me and my Mom I lived from 1947 to 1957!
So, is there a plan on buying your dream boat from the sale? ;)🤔 maybe a Cigarette to join Tank and Toei?
GLWS!

I was a kid when they bought it, and I’m not sure if it was still considered under construction or not.. but yes my parents have owned it for over 40 years

Or the cabinets. The current all white and grey trend is one of the worst trends of all time. I’d rather live in a 90s house with green carpet than a museum…

The thought was who ever is gonna buy it is gonna rip it all out and put what they want in anyways. It actually had pink and green carpets and walls a month ago. lol

I like cabinetry in it, wouldn’t be surprised if someone buys it and paints all the beautiful wood white…

Wood is making a come back.

That said the designer had us paint the kitchen cabinets at the job I am at. Like a soft natural gray.

It's half the size of Dave's and not nearly as nice. Going on the market for 1.8 in Torrance. Surprised that Dave's is not pending yet. A lot of house for the money.

Quality furniture staging goes a long way to help people better visualize how the space will look completed. Very few people have enough vision to be able to see it complete and theres little to no emotional response to a large empty space. It's the sole reason builders use model homes to sell their products. They hate the expense but stuff sells so much more slowly if at all without it.
Glws....eventually it will sell.

Probably 8k to stage that 1. But we'll worth it.
I am trying to finish up the one today. Stagers Wednesday.

That's potentially a drop in the bucket to what discounts it may take to get the sale. Up side is it's still a very valuable piece of R.E. All will still be well.

We did AI staging in the pics.. it’s actually pretty rad how it works.

Interesting.... care to share more on it?
I've not heard of that before.

When we sold our house, the photographer put a fire in the fireplace in pics. Not AI but they didn’t inspect the gas fireplace because they knew it worked. 😂

We did just have it serviced, so it did work.

AI staging is the future....I own my own staging company (or did) and used to have 2, 40 foot containers full of furniture which was enough to do three 2500 sq ft homes at the same time. I mainly only did my own listings but I paid for the furniture and the containers 10 times over what I would have spent staging all my listings over the years. AI staging is cheaper but still pricey IMO for a graphic designer to do it in 15 minutes, but it paints the necessary picture for a buyer to envision a room full and I know for a fact staged homes sell for more then empty homes, period.

So this is to say, that in today's market, more homes are being sold due to their online presence and appeal, more so than prospective clients viewing the homes in person ? AI just seems limited in that regard.

The online presence is what makes them get off the couch and schedule the in person showing. That's where the AI will lack is they get to the in person and the home feels "empty and loud" and the staged pics no longer make sense. All depends on the buyer.

The stager on job I just left. Has enough furniture to do 22 houses. She only stages.

2 other stagers my realtor uses regularly also do design. And sell furniture. They will sell the furniture if a house buyer wants. They constantly update there stuff to stay with the times.

When I was with my ex we were going that route. Sell furniture to design clients and stage when needed. I tried buying a warehouse- shop but it's currently held up and most likely not going to happen. Majority of the furniture companies require a storefront location to have accounts.

That’s gotta be a unicorn house in Carlsbad.
Wishing you the best on the hunt.
There truly is no better city in SoCal to raise a family.
Our house is in old Carlsbad off Valley street a block and a half from Carlsbad High.
There has not been a house sold on our Cul de Sac in 25 years.
Next door neighbor passed in her 90’s.
Kids sold the house a couple months ago.
House was stripped of furniture and cleaned.
No staging just bare rooms.
It is as close to original(1974) as any house on the block.
Had one open house on a Saturday, very well attended, with a few people seeing it early.
Was in escrow the following Thursday after some wild bidding.
Sold for 1.35 million.
The fact that Dave’s old house hasn’t sold yet is mind boggling.
