I'm doing a straight axle on my '56 Chevy Sedan and have seriously thought of ideas to hide an A/C system in it because I drive it a lot. But I think it would kill the vibe. Still thinking about it though. :skull

I actually make brackets to do just this for SBC and BBC.
it puts the alternator in front of the passenger valve cover and the compressor below that

How come you didn't hide yours then?
i'm thinking about putting air on my 70 Chevelle ( 396) and hiding it under the alternator seems like a great idea

hey Dan,
little difficult to hide on a Ford, the A/C lines exit the firewall on drivers side, so shortest route and I was able to keep the alt and a/c down low

I did what your thinking on a 66 chevelle with a 396 and the brackets shown, March also makes a kit to do the same thing with the Sanden 504 (peanut) compressor, it works out well with the vintage air kit

Power windows would be nice. Now that you have a/c you'll want to open n close them asap.[emoji4]

came out fairly clean, used bulkhead fittings at firewall and core support for a clean entry/exit (UN-Godly expensive):grumble: at least the CNC mill saved my wallet Again!!!!

you mean just in time for the Falcon Nationals in July, (July - Desert Storm = March - two Pomonas and replace glass = January - install new gauge cluster = December) so yea got it done just in time ;)

BTW smart ass, it's still hitting 90 out here but you wouldn't know that because you can't show up

if money isn't a object, get a compressor out of any hybrid, they are electric and you can hide them anywhere

That's a great idea, I think they are variable speed / displacement though and are ran by the vehicles BCM or climate controls. If you could control the thing to function as needed it would be sweet. Has anyone done it ?

not that I have seen or heard of, some of them I have seen are motor and clutch or on/off say for a ford escape hybrid others are variable speed and I am sure are controlled by a typical +/- 10vdc standard for motion control, so a $50 PWM controller off ebay would do the trick
