Thats a mold for a clear carbon fiber hatch - we want to save as much weight as possible for the twin 1350 mercs...
Are you seriously putting 1350's in there?

Great looking boat. Glad to see a new Ultra being built.

Ya I wanted something different from my last boat - so I went with all matt black hardware on the exterior, I really liked it when I saw it on the boat yesterday, I was a little hesitant at first for sure:thumbsup

Some pics with the rub rail painted. Now just to finish up the rigging and install the stereo. Trailer should be delivered today too.

I showed my 3 year old daughter this....she draws with crayons too and was wondering why anyone would do these colors on a boat. She thinks it's gay.

I don't agree with her...I like it.

Do not drag that other thread into here.. (not saying Hey You is doing that, just a warning to other members that might try). To say I'll deal with it unflinchingly and as a friend likes to say "with extreme prejudice" is an understatement.

The warning is on the table. Big Boy rules are in effect.

The last 3-4 weeks have been really busy around my house - my not noticing the comments for more updates have nothing to do with anything other than I have not been on the boards much in the last month or so...

Dave - thank you for your defense of this thread and keeping what ever stinky shit you are ref to off of this thread. :champagne:

Now on to the updates...

We did run into a glitch with the hatch that was made to fit a 496HO - as I am sure most of you know they do not make that motor anymore and the replacement is a 502HO or 8.2HO. The new motor comes with a new exhaust manifold that meets the new CARB requirements and as such has a higher riser on the manifold causing a clearance issue. A new hatch design has now been developed to to allow for the clearance we needed and we should have the boat done soon.

Here are the latest pics from today...

with as modern and futuristic as the seats and sidepanels look, it makes the dash and steering wheel look pretty boring and 80's looking.

Good luck keeping that interior clean especially if you tow w/ a deisel... All that stitching is gonna be a bitch trust me on that one. I just had mine redone partially because of it.... the other reason was it was no where near what I asked for. As a matter of fact my interior was designed off of sir bobs original interior in the first 26. That was my template...

Thanks for all the complements!

Im pretty exited about how its coming out - some of the ideas for this boat I've had in my head for a couple of years. I was more than a little bummed when DCB showed the orange Lamborghini boat at the miami show earlier this year - that boat had a couple of the major design elements that I had been planning on using so I had to change direction on a couple of things... Its always a worry to see how it will look in reality... so far its coming out like I'd hoped.

I have another trick up my sleeve for the engine hatch - I hope I'm as happy with the look as I have been with everything else. We will see it pretty soon:headscratch:
