I have the large and I love it...Kinda like crack, the meat is great and actualy anything you put in the dam thing turns to gold. Worth the money, I look forward to every day I get to cook on it.

That seems to be the sentiment. Build my outdoor kitchen around it and I'll need nothing else... 'cept a cooler for the beer.

Very cool and very spensive.......

I would love one but not to the tune of 1K+

I built 2 drum smokers for about 1/3 the cost of the green eggs sales tax...lol

I think 1 XL built in with a gas bbq that has a rotiserie would be the perfect set up.

Gotta have gas for a quick after work bbq

The Lump coal stays for ever. Just shut it off when you are finished and the next time just add a layer to the top. If you cook alot you will get you money back in a few years because the coal does not burn off.

I was the same way a few months ago about gas, but now no way it only takes maby 8 mins longer for me and the taste is worth it.

Had it for about 6 years..

I have a Medium(family of 3) and love it.. My buddy has a Large that his wife got for him after she ate on mine and its really big. Uses a lot of coal but I think they havn't found the sweet amount of coal yet..

It takes a long time to perect certain items but DAmn if it doesn't come out nice and juicy.. Heck the last time I did 2 chickens i had moisture running off the inside of the top when I checked it 45 min into its cook time.. 2 chickens take around 1.5 hrs at 250..

I would not trade it for anything but I also have a 5 foot, 7-8 burner sst gas grill . 2 ir burners and 2 rot burners...

Keep this in mind.......
KEY IS TO NEVER USE LIGHTER FLUID OR ANYTHING THAT HAS A FUEL.......

I light mine with an electric iron thing... shapped like a closed off horse shoe..

love it as I said but I use both a lot... would be hard for me not to have both..

We bought one at a garage sale in havasu about 10 years ago that was made in the 70's and came with all the cook books with foot notes from the first owner on how long to cook different things and placement of the doors. We love it! I found acouple of pics with it in the back ground and as you can see they look the same 40 years later. IMO worth every penny or my case I think about $75.00:D

We also use ours all the time, Has anyone cold smoked cheese before? It is really good. You use ice under the cheese to keep it cool.

Smoked cheese I will have to try that.

I can be at over 300 in 8 min with the egg square starters. Put two in the middle and waite 8+ min and put meat to the outside. Later you can move the meat to the middle.

I've got an XL that the wife bought me for a birthday present many years ago.

Many a slab of baby back ribs have met a slow death on that baby... :D :D

Funny. My parents had one of the original green eggs back in the 80's when I was 10 and lived in Torrance. I use to fill it with dirt, firecrackers and gi joes.

Too bad I didn't have it today.
