This is unbelievable. The people struggling to make ends meet can't possibly be considering to vote for Kuntmala but it's happening.

30 months ago I was buying good ribeyes for $7.99 a pound.

I get that for $6/lb, local grass-fed. $5 for 80/20. We got some ribeyes a couple of weeks ago and I want to say they were $17 or $19, I can't quite remember. Still too high though compared to pre-Biden/Harris. I'm not sure what they charge at the grocery store.

Can you folks get local beef in your area? Every town around here has it. Lots of small processing facilities in the area. Our state leaders are really promoting it.

Not a lot of good grazing land in SoCal, and fuel prices are insane for any ranchers that need to supplement...It sucks for most guys raising cattle I would think.

I was referring to TX, where @rrrr is at. I should have clarified. There are a lot of feedlots and dairy farms in SoCal, as you know, where the cattle all have to live standing in piles of cowshit.

Up here we have some as well, but the fuel costs are a big killer. I'd think your area may do better for growing feed, at least more consistently, whereas Texas may have more fluctuation due to rainfall (Too little or too much). I remember driving through Nebraska, listening to the local farm report. Some of these people put stock traders to shame. Rain totals, grain futures, oil and refinery news...as a city boy driving through the midwest, it gave me a better idea how it gets to the plate.

Costco is Excellent quality ….

Do I need to try Sam’s
Yes, at least the Sam's Club in San Dimas is more consistent better tasting Prime than Costco that is across the street..

We only buy Sam's Ribeyes for the last 2 years. We also get prime Rib roasts for the Holidays from Sam's only.

I buy hamburger at Stator Brothers. Well sorta...

I wait for TRI tip to go on sale at around 5 bucks a pound, and have em grind it up for me!

Last party I had, I did the same thing with top sirloin, and made smashed burgers with it. Everyone loved em.

Good stuff!

He's in Texas, beef is more expensive out here. It's like buying seafood at the beach, for some reason it's more expensive if you go to where they make it.

This was an unplanned single item purchase, but even when on sale it's around $4.99. Brookshires is two miles away, Walmart is about nine miles down the road.

Only buy meat at costco or sams club. Also buy sea food at those places as well. The packages are large, so I cut them up and vacuum pack it.

Our Brookshires has been selling aged prime beef for about a year now. Haven’t tried it as nearly all of our beef is raised across the road from us.

You should be saying thanks Joel / @wash11 not Joe and buying meat from him. Couldn’t be happier with the pricing and quality of the meat. No more buying overpriced garbage meat at the grocery store.

Maybe the OP would if he lived anywhere near Arizona.
He is stuck with the inflated price of supermarket meat thanks to Joe. That is the subject of his post.

Yeah that's fuckin nuts. Even when it's on sale it's more than a sale ribeye or NY here in AZ.

Smart and Final has had sales on it at like 7.99 a lb not marinated. Still too expensive for what it is.

Carne has been more expensive than ribeyes for at least 10 years. I switched over when the price went above.

This last weekend I passed on the ribeyes. Price is just nuts. I still spent $550 at Sam's for the River. I went with a pack of short ribs for appetizers. 2 pack of tri tip (best in a while). Pack of tri tip steaks. Pack of baby backs.

Pre Biden my average was $500 but I would get short ribs and ribeyes. 10 years ago I would get ribeyes for all my neighbors as well for around $6-8 a pound. Now they are $50-60 a pack of 3 instead of $18.
