You can make it from Vegas to Orange County without charging pretty easily with the dual motor.

The cars have their place, everyone wants to shit on them. But hey different strokes for different folks.

No you can’t. i’ve made the drive a few times in ours. you have to charge at least once. depending how fast you’re driving and running the AC.

EV are opposite than ICE as they get worse mileage on the highway than in the city.

Gonna have to call BS Dan. Our BMW got 220,00 miles. Sure a lot of repairs were warranty but I think we got more than our moneys worth.

I’m hoping in a few years down the road a few thousand will keep my no car payment intact.
Yeah.... that was 18 years ago. Those were still made fairly well (from what I have read, except the 7 series). Look at resale values of of German cars that are over 100k and made within the last 12 years...... they are cheaper than most things on the road. There is a reason for that. They are NOT reliable at that point, the parts are STUPID expensive, they require special labor (the German and British cars require specials computers to do much of anything repair-wise with them from what I am told), and they are require the most expensive consumables (oil, fuel, tires, etc...).

Pro-tip:

You can cut off a Tesla and it'll automatically apply the brakes and you'll get in just fine.

This is also why these cars are always clogging up the left lane. They've replaced the prius as the most annoying car on the road.
It's also kinda fun to watch the driver face plant the steering wheel in your rear view mirror. Lol

Really?
That’s only if you are on auto pilot/ self driving which I don’t use. I like driving my car not going for a ride in it. 😒

Yeah I probably should have specified.

The autopilot/self driving feature is what instigates the congestion. Someone gets in infront of a tesla, and said tesla slows, checks up the lane. Someone else does it and so on and so forth... Then you'll end up with a few teslas in a row checking eachother up everytime someone gets pissed and speeds up around them in the number two lane to get in front of the 60 mph robot procession in the fast lane.

Should? How long is the battery warranty? How many people do you personally know with half a million miles?

Look at the used car lot. How many 2014’s do you see…..Trucks are about the only thing worth negotiating a price , when they hit 10 years. 😉

Tesla's seem regional. The farther ya get from population centers the fewer you see.
I see one in Parker charging at Spanky's free "Destination" charger late at night from time to time.

Rare sight in Parker.

Threes time a Tesla almost took us out towing to Vegas on the I 15. Passing us in the slow lane and we're doing 70.

Old gas powered vehicles for the win is what I took from this.
Non-Tesla pay Chargers are a little more reliable over the past 2 years.
There are a few more of them but not enough of them by a long shot.

Though we get free charging on the road, it still tells you what you would have paid.
Two years ago it was around 35 cents to occasionally as high as 49 cents per KW.
Now it's in the 60 cents range.
That's high gasoline prices.

123 kW in cybertruck / my S is 85kW but the new ones are 100.
But what is the allowable discharge percentage, vs total battery capacity, maybe 80% ? I don't own an EV, but from what I've read, rapid discharge, frequent max depletion and Supercharging, are all detrimental to long battery life.

In general LPF lithium battery’s will cycle about 3000 times 100%. If you limit the charging cycles to 80% about 6000 cycles.

In either case you end up with about 80% of the original capacity. Which I would not consider detrimental, just ROI.

People report about mid 80s percentage of original capacity after about 100k miles in newer EVs.

So if you have a 300 mile range be and your daily commute is 200 miles (which is a mind numbing commute distance) at 80% original capacity (240 miles)… you just keep driving it past 100k just like a tired gasser that runs and drives…

I’ve been out of Ca for almost 6 years now , went back for family obligations this past weekend . Well , it looks like Tesla has now replaced the BMW as the most popular virtual signaling device on the roads ! Tesla’s are everywhere , every other driveway has a Tesla parked in it . Every lane on the clogged , saturated road raged freeway , usually the left lane , has a Tesla in it . Am I missing something ? Are they the best cars ever produced ?
Just lemmings following the lemmings.... Have you seen the resale value of the cars.... LOL
