Martinez Lake itself is very small, it's not a no wake lake but there is long no wake zone getting to the lake off of the river.

You can buy a 3 story townhome (bottom is 1200 sq ft garage, 2nd floor is house 3rd floor is patio) in Martinez for $230k and up right now. If you want a big house then you have to look on the North Shore of Martinez Lake, big houses on 1 acre minimum lots. There are a few for sale for over $600k right now, they basically need to be scraped and new home built.

This is the monthly newsletter that they use to publish. The issue that I am posting was the last one that they wrote. Martinez lake SPLASH, there are some classifieds in it.

You would have had to. The house that you rented was on the other side of the lake from the river? If you no waked through the lake you really didn't miss much, it's less then a minute across at speed in my POS. :D

is hidden shores is the only place I will go on the lower river. Martinez isnt very far up river if you want to go there. For wake stuff Martinez area is a zoo on weekends, I wouldnt tow my kids there. If you want more family party style, like letting the kids ride bikes and stuff as you cocktail with friends hidden shore is for you. If you want flat bill hat wearing , pre runner truck driving, stay up all night type stuff then martinez.
Am I right?? :blah:

Martinez has flatbiller dorks, but so does Havasu and Parker and everywhere else on the river. I don't tow anyone on the river there either, that's what Fergie is for.

If you want to be in bed by 6pm. Hidden Shores is the place.

I recently made my first trip to Martinez. If you are a jetboater, that place is heaven. There was probably a 5:1 small boat to big boat ratio. Lots of sand bars though, so not sure I would bring a wake/ski boat down there. Water is pretty shallow, even in the deep areas.

Ferguson is great until you get 3 or 4 boats in there, then it becomes a washing machine. There are LOTS of great places to tow (Ski, tube, etc) on the river, but we like to keep that a secret...... ;)

We do need our beauty sleep, so we like it that way......

That is correct. Squaw is completely no wake......

BAck in the good ol' days we would buzz between the reeds below Senators dam on jetskis. That was fun til you'd go off into the reeds like Kilrtoy and have to remove 20lbs of crap from the intake......it was eerie and creepy to stand in the muck:eek:
.
Furgusson lake was a fun dirtbike ride from our camp up on Senators:thumbsup

yea, to the north shore of MARTINEZ! lmao

Hidden is a little of what RR says, but rules are up the wazooo and security seems inconsistent.

I like it down here. plenty of places to ski wakeboard and tube up river.

I have an outboard and have never had a big problem with the shallow water. Also, plenty of 24-28ft deckboats go 20+ miles up river.

We love it.

So if I were looking to buy a place on deeded land, where would I look if I want to run the ski boat? Hidden shores sounds like it is better with my little ones.

Hidden shores is the only place down there that sucks IMO. It is like a retirement community. Sterile, overbearing, nothing on the water, HOA. Lots of people... My worst case scenario.

Unfortunately, there is no deeded land at Hidden Shores but it is a great family environment despite what others are saying here. There are a bunch of us here on RDP that are at HS, and I'm sure they would encourage you (as I do) to check it out for yourself and form your own opinion... If you do get down that way, let me know (space A60) and I'd be happy to show you around.....

I've been kicked out of there twice, having drinks with friends on people's decks. I have been hassled by security, told not to park our boat on the beach to come pick up friends for a night float, and have GREAT friends with places down there.

It ain't my deal. Wall to wall concrete trailer parks aren't where it's at for me.

Martinez ain't puppy dogs and lollipops, but it allows a lot of freedom that you just don't get at HS.

I don't go to the river to get hassled.

Kicked out twice? How did you get in the 2nd time? ;)

Wall to wall concrete? There's alot of asphalt but concrete? Hmmmm.....

Dude I'm not trying to bust your balls..... I've enjoyed the thread on the boat you're redoing and hope to see it in person some day.

I've been at HS almost 15 years now. I'd almost bet that there isn't a park model owner who has been there longer than me. It's been a great park for my family and I wouldn't trade the last 15 years for anything.

That said, we are getting ready to move up to the north shore of Martinez in the next year (we are building a house).

I'm just letting anyone know that if they're looking for a great family oriented park, they should check out HS.

PS..... who are your friends down there?

Imperial Oasis , sorry (Hidden Shores) is a great place.
There is plenty of deep wakeboard style boat water for 7 miles up river,
after that it's an adventure but you do have another 50 or 60 miles of river
to ski on.
There are plenty of rules and regs to keep everyone in check near your pad.
Absolutely no operating of golf carts or bicycles while enjoying an adult beverage. Oh , also keep the noise down past 10 pm or the camp
po po come looking. You also have the added pleasure of the BLM agents
to look after you. It's a very safe place.
Fishers and Martinez is filled with Hidden Shores refugees and flat billers
wanting deeded properties starting at $250,000 to 1,400.000 and a little independence.
It is unfortunate that unlike Parker or Havazoo there are no floating bars
mixed in with the general river traffic.
We tolerate large boats and roll bar boats because we now they'll stay
nearer the dam and deeper water.
All kidding aside, if you enjoy scenic views, smooth water, sandbars and water skiing you are looking in the right place.
Try it !
Oh, watch out for the alligators.

I snuck in. The first time we came in a boat.

All good... That's why they make apples and oranges.

Sounds perfect. Just not my brand of Vodka.

Now you're talking. Best place on the whole river IMO.

PS..... who are your friends down there?

They are beloved. And as such, they shall remain nameless. ;)

(I have successfully stayed there twice without the guards recognizing me... Don't want to blow my cover).

Hey old guy I thought you were a Martinez res now. What Happened

Holy crap...... Welcome to River Daves.... :thumbsup

Where the hell have you been? Actually I know where...... I thought you were going to try and make a couple trips out this summer. Your house looks so lonely out there. Any bites on it......

We are still in the works for Martinez. The old house is gone, some grading has occurred, and we are finalizing the plans. Just taking longer than we thought (but what everyone has been telling us).

We miss you guys.... Keep in touch.......

I've been kicked out for riding my X2 a little too fast coming in for gas 20 years ago, gotten strikes for walking our dog from the boat to the motorhome on the beach, being too noisey one night, been yelled at by security for driving a golf cart too fast. That being said, everytime we stay there (about once a year) we end up looking at places to buy. What can I say, I'm over 50 now & much calmer. :thumbsup

Exactly.

I go to the river for freedom, not to have the SS in a golf cart kill the fun. I have that all week.

Different strokes obviously, but it's just more exciting up north. Some neanderthals do still roam the streets, but that's what makes it the river, and I think that's what we all kind of like about it.
