The wife and I are planning our 2nd annual Havasu trip, and we plan on splitting out a few days in Parker this time around.
We will be in our motorhome, with boat, and I’ve narrowed the Parker stay down to either Pirates Den RV resort or Bluewater Casino RV park.
Days will be spent on the river, so not to worried either way about that. The wife likes nightlife, live music, & dancing. Does the Casino offer that any better than other strip locations?
Certainly just looking at strictly RV sites, Pirates Den looks like a better place to be…. ???
Help us out here, Locals. Thanks for any input.

Check out the Bluewaters RV park from Google earth, might not be for you.
IMHO Pirates on the Az side would be more fitting for a big rig than the Cali side .
jus' sayin, just my take what works for us.

Staying in your motorhome there’s no reason to go to Bluewater. If you want to gamble just get in your boat and go down there. Pirates will be right in the middle of everything. Don’t know how the band action is this time of the year.

I'd say that Pirates Den will be your best bet for amenities, boat launching, and river front parking. As for bars and live music, Roadrunner, Foxs, Sundance, and the Desert Bar will be your go to. Keep in mind that during the winter and mid week, it's a bit slow in Parker.

I would recommend pirates for camping as others have stated, Nicer, newer campground and if your lucky you can get a water front spot. That option does not exist at B.W. as far as I know. Additionally, it's centrally located to the restaurant/bar @ pirates and foxes, road runner etc. where you'll have a opportunity for live music @ night, just not sure if they still do that this late in the season. The only nightlife at the casino is gambling and the bar/lounge, I'm not certain if they have nightly bands in the lounge. You can check their website for that specific info.
Note: they do have a movie theater there if that should interest you.

This trip will be Memorial Day weekend through The next weekend in early June.…. So I trust the Havasu / Parker area will be awake by then.
We’re not much for gambling. More of the drinking and bar-related debauchery types.

I recommend Pirates (especially over Bluewater), but you'd better call now and try to get a waterfront spot. The second row is still a much better option than BW, but being waterfront is a much nicer experience. You can eat an excellent dinner at the Black Pearl, then walk down to RR for drinks.

I think the only advantage to the Bluewater is there's more usable beach. We also like being able to leave the boat in a slip while we're there. Sure you gotta drive around or walk from the park, but it's not that bad.

Pirates has their restaurant and roadroad next door that you can take a golf cart to without leaving the park. I think their spots are closer together depending on which side of the park you are on. If you can get water front, that's the best, but I think there's a list for that.

Pirates without a doubt. I stayed at Bluewater for a poker run as the events were there. That was many years ago and it wasn't that nice then. Also someone boosted one of my fenders at my slip, so that sucked. I believe Pirates has some slips, not sure what it takes to get one though.

Pirates imo as well. There are a lot of good parks in the Ca side also, Rverland is a KOA. Emerald is nice. Sundance RV Resort looks nice too and has a bar. However Pirates has a nice bar and restaurant. And you can hit Road Runner next door. Those are just some that come to mind. I’d stay away from the casino.

Pirates.

A holiday weekend at the river is definitely a drinking/debauchery type of vibe.

Thanks for the quick reply’s! We are IN!
We’re booked at the Islander resort in Havasu City May 22-29; then over to Parker for a few days @ Pirates May 29-June 2.

Now I’m on the hook to get the damn boat back together and running properly. Gas tanks currently on the work bench fixing a leak, and I have to figure out the temp-alarm issue on the old Yamaha ProV 200. It’s always something, but now at least I have motivation.

What's wrong with the Pro-V, do you know it's temp or could it be Oil?

It’s a temp warning. The multi-guage on the dash says temp anyway. It did give me an oil warning early last year. I replaced the inline filter between the tank and the on-engine reservoir and havent seen an oil warning since. The little filter must have been partially clogged.
I’ve replaced the Poppet valve hoping that would take care of it, but it still acts up when it idles for more than a minute or so. I’m planning on replacing the impeller and both thermostats. Hopefully that takes care of it.
runs well otherwise.
I’ll probably post in the outboard section when I’m on that project.

Cool, I have the same motor. Did my impeller and housing last year, easy, peasy. Will check out your post.

If you decide to go down to the casino and Gamble, make sure and leave your potty mouth at home. Last time I was there I was getting my ass kicked at blackjack and then finally won a hand, I said "fuck yeah, about time!" and the pit boss was immediately on my ass threatening to kick me out.

Sounds like the sort of place I wouldn’t last long in then….

Only downside at pirates is beach space. The front row spots are private for the guest who have that spot. The rest either have to go to the one next or the bar which is small or up to la Paz.
