Taking advantage of the Kung flu scare....big bear bound.

Well, kids are out of school. Friends decided to go to big bear a few hours ago so we jumped on the band wagon. Booked a cabin, for a few days, leaving in the morning. Haven’t been to big bear since I was 18. Kids are stoked.

Used to do that every year. Always had a good time . I think the only reason we stopped was because we started hanging out with desert people. Kinda miss it.

Enjoy. We always liked Captain's Anchorage for good steaks and seafood. Owned by a friend. Her family bought it from the old cowboy star, Andy Devine many years ago.

Been going to big bear for years. They have really changed the village area a brewery and some good resteraunts.

Saucy Mama's has good pizza, and a small patio on Pine Knot with heaters to people-watch.

El Jacalito has good Mexican, a serve yourself salsa bar so you don't have to bug the server, and also has a patio with multiple heaters.

Peppercorn Grille has inside and outside seating, definitely one of the more fancy mainstream places in Big Bear.

Chad's place is gone. In its place is Whiskey Dave's with almost the same vibe, definitely worth stopping in.

Murray's is still there, still the same.

Candy and fudge stop is still there, the kids won't miss it.

They now have several screened fire pits along Pine Knot, it's nice to stop and get warmed up.

So, fantastic trip so far. Very chill actually which is what we wanted. We didn’t come to ski or board which is good because they closed the runs down because of this stupid Fuckin Chinese flu!

But kids are having a blast playing in the snow. We went to some bar restaurant place last night that had pinball and video games and pool etc. today walked around a bit in the village then hit tubing and now going to meet all our friends at Oakside.

Don’t know what’s up for tonight.

Leaving tomorrow afternoon. Glad we did this last minute bomb run.

It’s either operation WAY overkill or the govt knows more than they’re telling us and it’s scaring them. I’ve never seen anything like this in my lifetime. But then again, I’ve never seen a political environment like this one either. So, who knows.
