No but I sold my 2500 to a RDP member and now all I have is my tacoma and I'm ready to trade it in on a 1500 diesel
I meant the big ones....thought you had a few HD trucks.

I’m in a 2006 CC Tundra (First Gen)…. I call it a 3/8 ton … the 4.7 V8 runs like a top without balls . LOL. It fits my needs / budget perfectly …. But I trip out on all the Tacomas near me loaded down with 1000+ lbs. of fake camping gear they never use. I always think to myself how gutless they are BEFORE bolting all that crap on em. Some have to be close to single digits in mileage.

Last river trip I averaged just under 16 mpg pulling my little skiff with a bunch of camping crap in the back. Not the greatest, but for a 19 YO truck, I’m not complaining

I sold my 2000 4x4 4.7 with 425k miles. Never had the motor or transmission opened up either. I maxed out the towing rating all the time and was not gentle in the dirt. Extremely well built truck. Only gripe was the undersized brakes.

Toyota the official truck of terrorists and the cartel 😉

I think the non turbo Toyotas were a lot more reliable than the new Tundras and Tacomas. Just rolled past 200k on my 2013 5.7 Tundra. When I look at book values for it I’m always surprised.

Shoulda stuffed 2 or 3 crate big blocks in it. Would sound fucking epic and $100K buys a lotta gas. Could you imagine the beautiful noise that 3 big block chevy's would make with chain couplers and zoomies if they were synced right?.... People would hire you just so they could hear you pull into the yard
Years ago I was working in DTLA and just wanted to be done with the job. Street work. Its the end of the day and as I'm putting tools in my truck and I hear this roaring Big Rig and then the jakes came on. I was about to just quit my job and go ask the driver of that truck for a job. Turns out it was RDPS very own Rvrluvr.

My company truck was a TRD Tacoma, total POS. Uncomfortable, flaking clear coat after just a couple years, wiring that rats love to eat, crappy mileage, horrible torque convert engagement, expensive.

These are the poor man’s G wagon, aka people just drive them to say they drive them lol…

Before the TRD I had a SR5 that had the same exact MSRP as my Ram, no idea why anyone would choose to drive a Tacoma over a Ram or any other full size truck.
I rented one up in Reno this year. I'd never buy one. Nothing like what they used to be.

Typical Toyota over priced underwhelming performance. Runs like a top and resale is high. Happy to have sold the MILs when Covid pricing was in effect. 200k miles and about 18k price. Too small of a truck for my likings.
Toyota, Sony, Honda companies running on the fumes of their past reputations.

I was looking at new Gen 5 4Runners and after looking into it decided to go with a used Lexus GX460. Better drive train and much more comfortable vehicle overall. I’ll probably keep it for 10 years.
I bought a new 1998 Tacoma when the TRD came out and loved everything about that truck as a 20 something kid hauling my bike to the races every weekend. Hospital bills forced me to sell it or I may still have it lol. I will say my chick at the time liked the F150 I replaced it with WAY more and it was a lot more comfortable on road trips.
The best truck I ever owned was my 2010 Tundra. I loved everything about it. Wish I still had it.
Having said all that, my favorite vehicle ever has been my 2007 E250. I love that damn thing. 237k miles and still going strong. Knock on wood lol.

I agree to some extent....the Toyota stuff that's still made in Japan is top shelf though IMO. I bought the wife a very slightly used 2023 4runner (made in Japan) and the thing is leaps and bounds nicer in every way than my 2016 tacoma. It's what a toyota should be, and has been. The US/Mexico made Toyotas are trash IMO. Honda still can't figure out how to build an engine that doesn't need periodic valve adjustments...which is just stupid in this day and age.

That said, I bought my Tacoma 2 years ago with 100K miles on it, and I've changed the oil, the serp. belt, and an idler pulley. I don't plan on opening the hood for much else over the next 100K miles. You simply can't get that with any other manufacturer

The recently discontinued (at least in the US market) full size Land Cruisers were Japanese manufactured... "They are just screwed together better". One of those is still on my short list of vehicles I'd like to own, but I can't really swing the entrance fee.

I was talking with my cousin over Christmas and asking him how is getting by with the huge slow down in car sales and the lots being full of inventory you hear about, he said it's horrible, barely doing 550 Toyotas a month and can't even get enough cars.

It really started 5-10 years ago with the whole “Toyotas of War” trend on social media showcasing all the Toyotas used in war zones.

Coincidently this is when the 3rd gen Tacoma came out, which has what most call drivability issues. It has no down low torque and an auto transmission with a very strange shift pattern, you basically have rev it all the way out, or drive in snail mode. That might be why you see them racing around lol.

I’m a die hard Toyota guy but the taco is for someone with very specific needs. I daily what most Tacoma guys dream of, a 2020 hilux, it’s a slow, harsh riding, and cramped, vehicle, it’s also a 4 cylinder that gets about 16 MPG lol.

On the Copperstate Overland this year these dudes from Wyoming showed up with this. Basically the grandfather to the Tacoma lol. He bought it from Saudi Arabia and it was show room mint. By the end of the rally it was not showroom 😂.
