I have a 15x50’ dirt patch behind the garage that is becoming a weed farm. I’d like to clean it up and park the boat there.

Plan on taking out some dirt and either treating the area so nothing grows or laying down some weed mat and then ????

River rock? Pea gravel? DG? Objective is cheap. I don’t want anything super permanent as there is a tree in the neighbor’s yard that’s fucking up the wall and ground...we’re planning on tearing that out in the next few years.

Lay down some 6 mil plastic on the ground and then 2 layers of weed cloth over the plastic, then get 3/4 rock about 2-3 inches.

The plastic will kill anything growing but it won’t last long term, that’s why you need the weed cloth on top.

Put a layer of ground clear first.

Recycled asphalt is one of the cheapest to buy and compacts really hard after a lot of water and acts almost like a hard surface.

Where are you at? I found a place for DG in Rubidoux for about 1/2 the price of landscape supply places. At a quarry.

Was gonna post the same thing. Dropped off 10 tons of crete at a recycler friday and there were mounds of it. Couldn't be that expensive.
