The boating community never ceases to amaze me with how generous and caring everyone is.
My wife runs the @river_hauties Instagram account and is doing a series where she is documenting her journey to hitting 100 mph in the 25 Daytona.
We were docked a few spots down from Leanna and the Demon Bikini race boat and during the weekend we struck up a few conversations with her and the Savage Skater crew.
Renee (@river_hauties) asked Leanna if she could interview her for some tips on how to get to 100 as Leanna races boats and instead of just saying, “sure let’s do an interview” Leanna said “meet me at the docks at 9am and I’ll let you drive the race boat and give you some tips”
Unfuckin real.
There’s no downplaying how cool that was and Renee was so stoked to be able to have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a race boat and get on the gas.
The only downside (and Chad from Savage Skater warned me when the girls were out driving) is that Renee is going to want a Doug Wright. Sure as shit as soon as Renee popped her head out of the hatch, grinning ear to ear, the first words were “we need to get one of these!”
Boating is a fun pastime but I’m convinced now more than ever that it is the community around this hobby/sport that make it as special as it is.
Shout out to Leanna and Chad, can’t thank you guys enough.
Below is a video of them getting ready to leave the docks.
