Any other fathers dragged to the one direction concert this weekend? I'm here surrounded by 20,000 screaming tweeny girls. Brought my 14 year old as a reward for getting all As and B's last year. Actually she almost got straight A's. Now she's in honors classes as a freshman in high school. So proud of her, guess it's worth it.
I <3 1D lol:(

...Note to all I was in the rock 'n roll business many years ago,...always wore ear Plugs ... (The Walmart foam type work well just cut them in half so they don't protrude from your ear)...Oh and possibly self medicate before and or during...

I'm stuck going to it Tuesday night. A friend has a suite at the UofP (Cardinals) Stadium and he is taking his daughter and invited us. I thought the wives and kids were only going, then they said he was too. Since he is my ticket to Cardinals game in the suite, I have to go to the damn concert. The price we pay for friends with the right tickets. :D

Suite seats make any event decent!

Jesus, I'm trying to have fun in Vegas and now I'm feeling all sentimental... Our daughter is turning 4 next month and the independence has already begun, big time. She's smart, but wants to do everything on her own. Makes me proud, but sad at the same time.

Damn Justin ... she's already a freshman?!

Time flies and I know it's a matter of time before my daughter will be asking me to take her to shows like that.

I feel your pain...

Taking my 17 YO boy and some of his friends to Festival Supreme next month...

Might be cool but not my thing. He is stoked to go though.

It was a great experience for the girls. They didn't sit down or stop screaming through the entire concert. The music was OK. I am glad I took ear plugs though. I didn't put them in at first cause I was thinking, I'm not that old. I'm not ready to be the uncool dad with earpplugs in haha. But after about 20 minutes of all the screaming, ear plugs went in. I did better than my old lady, she put them during the promo videos playing on the big screen. I'm glad I got to do this for her. In truth, I didn't have to go. My girlfriend offered to take my daughter for me but I wanted to hang out with her and watch her act a fool. Glad I did.

Wife and daughter went with some friends friday night. really good floor seats. Wife said the kid smiled and danced the whole time. Must have been a good show because my kid is still talking about it.

At what age do you let them go on their own. My parents didn't have to endure concerts, was going alone at 13/14. Granted the company my Dad worked for had a box. So they dropped us off and somewhat out of the main crowd. I remember dropping my brother and his date off at Guns N Roses when he was 15. Part of growing up was detaching from the parents a little at a time. So what age will you let go? Granted my parents kind of liberal when it came to us kids. Drove to Phoenix from Vancouver with my girlfriend at 17, alone no parents.

You're a good man Candlemaker, LOL.

My colleague just went through this in Philly with his daughter. I gave him so much shit, but the next day he met me in Nashville so he could "level set" himself

After going and seeing that the crowd was literally 95% female I would imagine I would feel comfortable dropping her and a few friends off next year when she's 15.

I have now experienced stupid loud. I thought I had at some other point in my life, but nope, this is stupid loud. And... It isn't the music. 50,000+ screaming girls is unexplainable stupid loud.

If this was a NFL game, the other team would just quit.

Truer words have never been spoken. And that specific pitch they hit really sends it over the top. So it sounds like my estimate of the attendees was way short. I just read the tour is averaging 60,000 a night! Glad it over and hope you weren't to cool for ear plugs.

I cant find numbers on how many were there, but it was ridiculous. And yes... ear plugs. It wasn't the music, you couldn't even hear the music with screaming.
