Guys Dave here with myfreecabletv.com, after River Dave mentioned this magical little box on the RDP forum a bunch of you tried to go on the myfreecabletv.com website saw a f'd up site that didn't work right. If I didn't already I will say it again my apologies for what happened.

I already have new site up and better than the first one. It is completely functioning with the RDPFREE Promocode working as planned. (Still at myfreecabletv.com)

As for those who managed to jump through all the hurdles and received a box prior to tonight's big fight, it's time for the verdict. Did it not live up to the hype or is it everything I said and a bag of chocolate covered pretzels?

So please this is your chance to tell everyone on RDP how the box fared. Just throw it out there and let it rip, everyone is listening.

I have had mine for a day now, played around with it a bit and am a satisfied customer so far. Have not figured out the Pac 12 network access just quite yet, but it really seems to me that this box has a TON to offer at the one time price. I would however like to see the USTVNOW channels offered in HD, and hoping that might come in the future. I think a dedicated support forum that all customers could access and contribute to would be great, as trying to navigate the many paged here on RD's Place can be time consuming and will likely not get any better. I did not try the fight tonight, but have no doubt I could have watched it and look forward to other PPV events in the future.

I'm very non tech I'm going to order one tonight and give my honest review. I'm not looking to cancel directv I'm looking to make my money back w nfl games mlb games and PPV. One UFC fight is like 60 bucks so if I can get those I'd say it's a big success. Like I said though I'm not a tech guy and have a real short fuse. Might b up for sale for a 100 bucks in a few days lol

you can find your speed at speedtest.net. I have a fast download and have not had one buffering issue. It is not hard to use at all

Hey T I can tell you depending on how old your kids are they will probably learn the box before you. As for the wife, if she has her favorite shows she watches once your box is dialed in she will love it also. I can do a live over the phone demo with anyone just like if I was in your living room doing a home demo. When you get the box text me so we can set up a demo time for me to walk you through the in's this training will help you understand how to navigate XBMC.

I will say I am happy....but you need 15mb speed or you will see buffering....for instance last night no issues with the fight in standard def....gonna try some football streaming today...

I do but after all the testing I found my wireless would degrade over a couple of days....again I use it for work, video con calls everything.....and so once I recycle it is back up to 48+.....so when I start to see buffering I notice it is degraded..... Plus I have 4 kids here today all using the wireless so I am getting buffering trying to watch NFL.

I am going to run cat 6 from router to main viewing room to get more consistent speed.

Decided to watch the fight out back in the patio area. Took the Magic Box out there and hooked it up only to get very low speeds via wireles connection. Alot of buffering and didn't want to take any chances on not getting the fight or waiting on buffering so I ran a cat6 cable from my office to the box some 150' away and was back to 32mbs download. Picture perfect night for boxing and UFC.

I've had my box for a little over a week. Really like it. My speeds are 50/25 (with some fluctuation). I've found just about every movie I've wanted to watch with no buffering. We did have to hunt a little for Despicable Me 2 yesterday, but once we found it, and a good server we were on our way. Honestly with the searching and initial buffering I spent less time than driving to Red Box or where ever to rent it.

I'll keep DirecTV, although I'm not sure why because most everything is on USTVNOW.com and if it's not I can probably stream it from somewhere. I will probably cancel HBO/Showtime/Cinemax etc because I never really watch them anyway, and the only reason I got them was because DTV pretty much gave them to me as a "valued" customer.

I'm happy with the box, and my wife seems to be happy too. Sure there are a million other ways you could get the same thing...and probably for less than what Dave is charging, but honestly his service and support has been worth the extra money.

BTW, buy his remote (keyboard) I had (what appeared to be the same one) that I used for work and it gave me nothing but trouble when trying to connect with this system.

You get news through normal 33 TV channels that are streamed out of New York.. There is no monthly cost after you buy the box. I don't have the complete list of channels, but everything is on there, CNN, ESPN, ABC, NBC, etc..

I completely understand and one thing I have lived up to and that is I will never leave my customers in the dark. If you have an issue I will fix it or if it can't be fixed I will replace it no questions asked.

The content on the box is unlimited so yes for some it can replace Cable TV. There is no monthly fees after the initial one time costs. as far as local channels it doesn't have that, it does have 30 live very popular national channels. If you get an HDTV Digital Antenna and set your TV to auto program you can normally get 4 to 10 HD local channels. All you need is one of those channels that gets local news and your set everything else is syndicated broadcasting which means all the shows you watch will be on the box the next day after aired.
