Let’s look on the bright side.. this should smooth out a lot of the trails around Havasu!
Was that done to keep the volume down and allow for the river to absorb the flow from the land and cause damage to the homes by flooding/overflowing?Last time this occurred Davis Dam didn't let out much water. The river was a trickle!

I wonder where the “DEW” point will be when the storms hit
Here ya' go! Local 36 is LA, 220 was OC, but they'd been talking about merging for 30 years.
Last I'd heard, 10+ years ago, grandson was running the show. Always kept equipment looking respectable and job sites clean!I went to HS with one of the owners of Letner Roofing. His Dad started the company in Downey CA in the 50s.
Farm land will be flooded. If it doesn’t destroy the crops, they’ll need water in a week.I think by keeping the flow low, it allows the river to absorb the runoff.
If I am reading that correctly, that is.
So it changed direction again?Radio here this morning said not going inland. Cali needs the rain.
It was thirty years ago today that Hurricane Alicia hit Houston. I lived in NW Houston, 60 miles from landfall. It rained nine inches at my house in the following 36 hours, and more than a dozen tornados hit the area.Yes but they anticipate it dying as it moves up from Baja
I know we won’t be chuckling but unfortunately what can we do? Sandbags aren’t gonna save shit at that rate of rain.It was thirty years ago today that Hurricane Alicia hit Houston. The winds will moderate when Hilary arrives in California, but there will still be a shitload of rain. You guys might not be chuckling on Tuesday afternoon.
I'm just trying to impress upon members that it's a serious deal and some forethought is a good idea.I know we won’t be chuckling but unfortunately what can we do? Sandbags aren’t gonna save shit at that rate of rain.
Living in Houston, when a hurricane threatened, everyone hauled ass to the grocery store. So there I am just hours after the announcement, and the shelves containing crackers and peanut butter are bare.Call me whatever ypu want but...yeti is full of ice. Portable batteries are charged. 8 cases of water, some added groceries. All this tookl under 1 hour.
Water doesn't go bad. Ice is ice. Gas is going to be used regardless.
I dont think it's going to be a big deal but...I've also been evacuated for fires that started 30 miles away.
Now I'm off to dinner. Get lit. Drive with my lights on to a pool hall. With my lady Mrs RR. No uber.
'Get lit' means have a soda with caffeine. Don't jump to conclusions
How we going to keep all the jackasses here on RDP? @RiverDave you gotta come up with the plan. The members need yore help!!!!City of Parker should sand bag to keep all the donkey in the desert, not in the River.

Shit is hilarious. My daughters first day of school is Monday and they sent this ridiculous text of how they might cancel school. Wtf.
Idiots have no clue on how hurricanes are fueled. They need Warm water!
What is the media distracting us from this time?
Needs to 80+. My weather forecast for Sunday in North San Diego is showing 1" of rain with winds up to 17MPH. I still say the news media is overblowing this storm.Water temp off of SD is 72
72 aint gonna do it in my unprofessional opinion.Water temp off of SD is 72
I have to be in Vegas next week for work.. I’m half thinking of sneaking out to Havasu for some rides
It could be nothing to everything. We were down to 10 bottles of water anyway grabbed a little extra food and filled the cars up, tomorrow morning I will get some gas in my gas can for the generator, if it doesn't get used in the generator I will put it in my car next week. Worst case for us would be no power for a day or two topsCall me whatever ypu want but...yeti is full of ice. Portable batteries are charged. 8 cases of water, some added groceries. Not all of us! I actually watched some journeyman do this like 12 years ago and it blew my mind. Told them it pays better at work than home! I had just organized in from the non union. Needless to say it was was really easy to go right to the top company wise with a non union work ethic. I'm a medium voltage cable splicer(1000 to 35,000 volts) and a superintendent now.IBEW workers do
draw a circular on your hood, if 3 drops land in it in 3 minutes, too much rain go home. If not, draw a bigger circle.

I'm sticking with my prediction..In Socal, we will get a 1/4 inch of rain, with a lot of shots from the news showing water tricking down a gutter..
Storm Watch!
Wtf did I just watch
