I know there are a lot of people that store their boats and RV's in storage places...open, covered and storage units..but…. is it worth the cost to build a garage vs covered rv shade??? you can do a rv shade 14' high 20' x 30' for 2600 bucks....I have both in vegas… and I tell you... Ilike the shade better... with out ac the garage gets too hot, where as the shaded area is cooler..I guess you don't have to have concrete....I used to have pole barns in paso robles..... but the thought is this....long as it covered parking....good enough????

Would think it would be fine if sides and back go down far enough to keep sun from hitting RV. Front entrance needs something even if it tarp/sun shade/canvas. As you know sun us what causes the most damage to Rv exterior. My used Rv was stored outside and the sun even deteriorated the front seats.

Where are you finding a rv shade for that cost?

Shade beats no shade
Enclosed beats Shade
Air Conditioned Enclosed beats Enclosed
AC Enclosed with Bar and TV beats AC Enclosed.

... I could live with shade only if that's what made sense, but I would wish it was enclosed... Just like my 1000 sf AC enclosed I have now in that I wish it was 2000 sf with a bar and TVs...

interstate steel structures.... they just did one in vegas for me...12' high sides,... 19' x 30, 2600 tax delivered and installed..

i just got a price for 12’ sides 18’ wide and 40’ long half sides covered open from and back for $6,000. $500 permit and $500 engineering is extra.

I have covered storage at my house in HB. I don't think it is quite the same as the weather is mold comoared to havasu. But, it does just fine. When it rains my boat stays dry

I want enclosed to have protection from sun, rain, wind, dust, etc. I don’t want to have to put a cover on my boat to keep it clean. I want to clean it when I’m done using it, put it away, and have it ready to just hook up and use the next time out.

I need a 20’ x 70’ x 14’ tall for the side yard. Thinking it’ll be 8-10k. Your pricing looks closer to 6k. I’ll keep that name for future reference when I’m ready.

I try not to let em in;)
I've had to shoo a snake out of my garage, fugger tried climbing my boat trailer just as I broomed him away. That's when I decided to put in a/c and not crack the doors open anymore...lol

As you already know it has to be in complete shade or the sun will bake it. The Temps are cooler in a shade but if it freezes where you store it a garage would be better.

Assuming it's for your new build, how about one of those solar panel deals like they have at grocery stores and the like? I always wondered if that was feasible.

I think that issue was because some guy got in trouble because he put his garage shed on the property line. He got pissed and went around town taking pictures of other sheds that were on the property line also. I'm sure they still allow them. Just have to be in the right spot.

If I lived at the same location, could block entry for others, and saw it every day maybe but I park it and leave it 200-plus miles from my residence. I want my stuff fully enclosed and locked. I'm not going to trust somebody is not going to jump a fence take my cover off and put their dick beaters all over my boat. I wouldn't want inside bulk storage for the same reason.

I built a decent garage for the boat/offroad toys and a steel car port for the rv behind garage 12x14x38. Dont have pic of it finished but if I remember correctly it was just under 4 grand set on dirt.

What did they anchor it to?

they drive these 42 inch by 6 inch augur anchors into the ground. We get some crazy wind in the high desert and it doesnt move.

I will agree that a covered patio/awning like this one is great but will still suffer from reflective sun rays, however I think that this 22' Eliminator OB would enjoy my climate controlled RV garage much better IMO :D

How much you pay me to store it in your climate controlled garage?

I like it. I have built shades that attach to the sides and back to keep most all of the sun off it. Have a full boat cover also.

Have pics of if with the sides?
Parents have a lot of land but no cover so this would work to keep my boat on there property instead of payin storage.
