I must be one of the few that loves the look of the 224.
I like it.. Especially compared to the old deck.

Some of you guys probably know better than me,I thought the 224 was a slightly different bottom than the old 22SST?Stoker made two style decks for the 224. A new style (like Riverbounds) and the original maybe bill can post pics of each style

I know my personal taste prefers the style and lines of the SST.
Oh ok I thought riverbounds was the old maybe that's u I didn't get it?

I might like the sst better [emoji3]
I might be mistaken but I think the mold for the SST deck was damaged. Not sure if it was destroyed or not.
Is that not what kiwi posted earlier in the thread?
He posted the 20 molds.

To clarify Stoker made two different 22 foot boats The original bout the dates back to 1984 is the SST22 this is what people are referring to as the "old" deck. In 2000 I'll redesigned the deck and came out with the 224 which back in the day he used to referred to as the "euro" this is the "new" deck the people are referring to. Up until now closed up shop year ago you could order either version of this 22 foot Stoker. The differences you would either order a SST 22 or you would order a 224 The bottoms were the same. This also rings true for the 20 footer
And can anyone jump in these boats and safely drive them or is it something that takes seat time. Does it drive like a v or a cat?
He posted the 20 molds.
Who is that guy?
I see two complete sets of molds (stacked) and another deck?Looks like the SST and the newer 20.Could the other deck be the 22?
It's been so long now since I was around those molds I'm not sure but was there a dedicated outboard 20sst mold with a well and another deck mold without for an inboard application?
Bill, the 20 and the 204 are different bottoms, the 204 being the definite slower but better riding of the two. But yes, while the shop was open you could buy either hull.

I learned how to drive a boat in one at 11 years old. But, you can definitely hurt yourself and one.
I would have to say the answer would be they handle like all of the above. LOL
A few.Sullivan sprayed a few too,but the majority were sprayed by a guy named Rod Rothrock.Did u spray any? [emoji4]

I would beg to differ on the bottoms being different.. But the 204 and that 224 are generally slower because they are heavier.
Thanks.:thumbup:There has never been a I O 20
Look closely at the pic Kiwi77 posted.

I would beg to differ[emoji3]... There have been a few 20 IO's built... One running a Blackhawk at over 120. Al built another IO 20 last year that was getting rigged with a TT LS motor outside of their shop. I will find some pics later tonight. They had to build a ridiculous looking engine cover for it.
I do stand corrected on those two. It was never really something he offered. Just like there are some "race" bottoms that acre completely different than what you could walk in his shop and buy. Bowden and Roth are two locally that have these "different" bottoms on a 20.
There was also a different "race" deck.
But now we are getting into one off/extremely limited build type stuff.
Interesting.I didn't know that.Correction from my earlier post... I know of at least one 20 IO that ran a Blackhawk, but they were very rare. [emoji3] I will try to get you some info on it later tonight. Don't think many know about it.
I'm sure he probably knows more than me,but I don't remember a race deck?Wait so who has the race molds? I want one of those [emoji41]or do u pop it out of those molds and modify it?

Yeah, who knows exactly what they have really done... And the boat I was talking about in that quote was a 224, not a 20. My bad. That's why I changed my post. Still looking for the IO info though.

This is the one I was thinking of... One of the best looking boats they made IMO...
