I do know that Al wouldn't put a 300 on a 20.1
I would be carefull forsure
Its a 20.4...I had the same set up and it worked well...

The Stokers are very weight sensitive...maybe more so than most tunnels. I agree that Al would not put a 3.2 liter on this boat. However, with careful set up, it seems that it has been done before successfully as Stoker22405 mentions ....
My buddy Wild Bill put a 3.3 short shaft Yamaha on his Stoker, with decent results.
Bottom line in the Church's opinion...make ONE mod at a time so you know what works or doesn't work.
Get a hold of the people that have done it and try and get a ride...
Al is in Florida, he is the guru of these boats...
I personally would go center steering because of balance issues, but that is how we roll...
Testing is the key to success!! Propellers make huge differences...
Set back is crucial...
Gas tank position ....
Weight load...
Good luck and post up your trials and tests!!
Here's Wild Bills Stoker w/ 3.3 Yamaha shorty.
My 19' Daytona DCB was center steer...
My 21' Cougar is center steer...

It just made sense to go this way for weight balance AND you sit BELOW the stringers instead of on top of them for a better center of gravity...

Its doable.. Just takes some time to get things sorted out.. This is one of my brothers ( 4 ) stokers.... Definately a boat on the prowl when the water gets right (a tad of wind to let 'er loose) I mean , C'mon.. 1200 hp 21 ft cruisers out there and this isnt a possibility? Men like go for it.... so... GO FOR IT!

Is that a v8 on a 20?
While some have installed the 300XS on 20.4's the boat was not intended for that engine and is over what was recommended for max power. It also has a taller transom which will leave the engine too high for all around use with 15 inch engines.
Im not sure I would listen to you.....your boat is too dangerous for the Enduro though........ (sarcasm)
Well, it wasn't funny when I was outlawed..!! The Nordic was also told they would be outlawed if they didn't put the SC700 engine in the boat. They came with the 1350 HP MERCURY and they got to race. How's that for respecting the rules? I was deemed "unsafe" with a thousand less HP. They hate outboards that threaten the big sponsors. I filed that under "chicken shit"...

How much set back were you running
Zero set back....One of the guys attempted setback and it didn't work out very good....
What happened with to much set back
Floating just north of the gorge...ouch!
I've seen that video that was crazy how much damage did that cause
Outboard Outlaws!
I hope Dave takes back the Parker Enduro and let's us run the Unlimited class! Or maybe we need an Unlimited Outboard Class this year?

I'm doing the least amount I can until we figure things out then go to just a set back no jack plate
They do make a few nice through hull fittings, mine are simple and functional.
